Barkley; U.S. Supreme Court Associate Justice John Archibald Campbell; U.S. Attorneys General Homer Stille Cummings and Richard Kleindienst; Second Fuhrer and Grand Admiral Karl Dönitz; Nazi Foreign Minister Joaquim Von Ribbentrop; the Association featuring Larry Ramos, Muddy Waters, and Nazareth featuring Darrell Sweet:

  9. 1857 Thursday: San Jose State University begins forming.
  10. 1861 Tuesday: At the outset of the American Civil War, President Abraham Lincoln orders the evacuation of Indian Territory by Federal troops.  Elsewhere, the nation’s 33rd U.S. Supreme Court Associate Justice John Archibald Campbell left office on this date.  A Democrat, President Franklin Pierce nominated Campbell to fill the seat of Associate Justice John McKinley.  Campbell served from March 22, 1853 until today.
  11. 1863 Thursday: In Mexico, as the French regime of Maximillian is under assault, at Camerone, the foundation for the French Foreign Legion’s most distinguished holiday occurs at a battered farmhouse.  Three officers- led by a captain with a wooden hand- and 63 rankers- held out against a howling mob of more than 2,000 Mexicans.  All day, the sun baked the ramshackle building that was becoming as porous as a kitchen sieve with all the flying lead plowing through it witnessed the deaths of most of the defenders until late in the day, the remaining five Legionnaires made the grim decision: to fix bayonets, fire their last round, and then charge out at the screeching mad attackers.  So they did, they charged out, went into Legion history for all time, and the Mexicans were so surprised that the lives of the three survivors.
  12. 1864 Saturday: New York becomes the first state to issue and to charge for a hunting license.
  13. 1870 Saturday: Future 55th U.S. Attorney General Homer Stille Cummings is born in Chicago, Illinois, on this date.  A future Democrat, he would serve under President Franklin Delano Roosevelt from March 04, 1933 to January 02, 1939.

  15. 1889 Tuesday: The inauguration of George Washington became the first national holiday in the United States.
  16. 1893 Sunday: In Wesel, Germany, future Nazi Foreign Minister Joaquim Von Ribbentrop is born.  He would serve in this capacity from 1938 to 1945.  He would be executed following the Nuremburg War Crimes Trials following the war.
  17. 1900 Monday: Engineer John Luther “Casey” Jones of the Illinois Central Railroad died in a train wreck near Vaughan, Mississippi, after staying at the controls in a successful effort to save the passengers.  Meanwhile, the United States annexes the Hawaiian Islands.
  18. 1904 Saturday: The ice cream cone makes its debut.
  19. 1915 Friday: The German army gears back up for another go at the Allies during the Second Battle of Ypres.  Advancing from St. Julien, the French and British soldiers are able to impede their progress.  Meanwhile, on the Eastern Front, the Germans continue pushing east through the Baltic states routing the Russian army as they go.
  20. 1916 Sunday: Fighting in Dublin, Ireland, ends as more than 700 rebels lay down their arms to the British occupiers.  Elsewhere, the Allies continue trying to bring the German colonial forces to a decisive battle and a column crossing over from the Belgian Congo reaches Lake Victoria where they hope to trap the Germans between them and South African forces.
  21. 1918 Tuesday: British forces in the Middle East continue rolling up the Ottoman Turks.  The Ottoman Empire was a crumbling entity, long known as the “Sick Man of Europe” because it was a jaded, hollow empire just awaiting the right set of circumstances to bring about its collapse.   That collapse was coming.
  22. 1921 Saturday: In Akron, Ohio, the American Professional Football Association forms.
  23. 1930 Wednesday: The Soviet Union proposed a military alliance with Great Britain and France.
  24. 1938 Saturday: A precursor to the cartoon character, Bugs Bunny, first appeared in the Warner Brothers animated short, “Porky’s Hare Hunt.”
  25. 1939 Sunday: The New York World’s Fair officially opened with a ceremony that included an address by President Franklin Delano Roosevelt.  Meanwhile, Lou Gehrig played his final game with the New York Yankees.
  26. 1940 Tuesday: State boxing officials in California licensed Belle Martell as the United States’ first female prizefight referee.  Elsewhere, following on the heels of the evacuation of Norway’s King Haakon, British troops begin preparing for evacuation themselves.  It is clear who is going to win this fight and it’s not going to be the French and British but the Nazis.
  27. 1941 Wednesday: The Afrika Korps gears up for yet another assault on the port of Tobruk with heavy bombing attacks by bombers and dive bombers.  The general leading this assault is Friedrich von Paulus, who would end up being transferred to the attack on the Soviet Union and would become the losing commander at Stalingrad.
  28. 1942 Thursday: The Japanese naval fleet consisting of three aircraft carriers and support ships is leaving the big naval base at Truk and proceeding to Port Moresby in New Guinea for the big invasion that is coming.  The Imperial Japanese are determined to strangle the sea lanes to Australia and New Zealand.
  29. 1943 Friday: The Nazi extermination camp, Bergen-Belsen, begins construction.  Elsewhere, in London, the Free Polish Government is in a quandary what with the demand for Swiss Red Cross to investigate the Katyn Forest Massacre because if they continue pushing it, the Soviets are going to cut them out of the future of Poland (which they do anyway).
  30. 1944 Sunday: U.S. Navy warplanes continue attacking Truk and destroying loads of Japanese warplanes.  Due to severe losses among veteran pilots, the Japanese are rushing poorly trained pilots into the fight which shows the desperation afflicting them.  Surrender?  No way in hell.
  31. 1945 Monday: As Russian troops approached his Berlin Bunker, Adolf Hitler committed suicide along with his wife of one day, Eva Braun.  His successor, Grand Admiral Karl Dönitz assumed power on this date and in this capacity served under his surrender to the Allies on 05-23-1945. Still the fight rages within the city and in other parts of Czechoslovakia where Germans still hold land.  The fight is fierce because the German military now seeks to keep open ‘tunnels’ through which retreating comrades can reach the West and surrender to the American, British, and French allies and not to the Soviets.  Meanwhile, Arthur Godfrey began his CBS radio morning show, “Arthur Godfrey Time.”  It ran until this day in 1972.
  32. 1947 Wednesday: The federal government changed the name of the Boulder Dam back to the Hoover Dam.
  33. 1952 Wednesday: The first toy advertised on television is Mr. Potato Head.
  34. 1954 Friday: At Dien Bien Phu, the weather clears which is joyous news for the French Foreign Legionnaires’ feast day, the Day of Camerone when they commemorate the Legion’s history and their lost comrades.  American air crews return to flying in supplies during the daytime as well as dropping in reinforcements while fighter planes are able to attack one AA battery position after another.   Among the most important supplies dropped to the French troops was a strange gelatinous wine-substance that when combined with water became a drinkable wine.  Called vinogel, French troops kept their eyes on it all day as it lay in crates between their lines and then at night launched sorties out into No-Man’s Land to retrieve as much of it as possible as well as killing as many communists as possible.  The retrieval of a 16-year-old recently drafted into the People’s Army gave the defenders hope as he had no clue as to what unit he was in or what he was supposed to do.[i]
  35. 1956 Monday: The former 35th vice president of the United States (served January 20, 1949-to-January 20, 1953) Alben W. Barkley, died at age 78 in Lexington, Virginia, on this date.  A Democrat, he served under President Harry S. Truman.

  61. 2008 Wednesday: The Federal Reserve slashes interest rates by one-quarter percent to 2-percent.  Not good for investors and people with retirement plans.
  62. 2009 Thursday: Chrysler files for Chapter 11 bankruptcy protection.  Meanwhile, thanks to the ongoing H1N1 swine flu pandemic from communist China, Mexican President Felipe Calderon issues a partial economic shutdown for five days; you know- to flatten the curve.  Elsewhere, the United Kingdom says ‘enough to combat operations in the Iraq War and that it will begin pulling its combat troops out and bring them home.  Wish ours came home, too.
  63. 2010 Friday: The Deepwater Horizon oil spill reaches the Louisiana coast; weather officials predict that harsh weather will impede cleanup efforts.  Governor Bobby Jindal, Republican, had been begging for aid from the Obama administration but none was forthcoming until the first black waves began rolling across the beach.  By then, it was too late, fisheries destroyed, shrimp and crab-catcher fleets ruined for years to come.  Why?  Many suspect it’s because the Obama-Biden administration sought to vilify oil and natural gas so the American people would condemn fossil fuels.  Thankfully, it didn’t work.
  64. 2011 Saturday: As the Libyan civil war continues to rage, Libyan leader Moammar Gaddafi says he is ‘willing to enter into a ceasefire but BOTH sides must agree to it, not just his side.’  Sadly for the Libyan leader, his youngest son, Saif al-Arab Gaddafi and three of his children are killed in a NATO airstrike.  How did we end up fighting in this war?
  65. 2012 Monday: After Chen Guangcheng flees house arrest, U.S. President Barack Obama refuses to comment on the blind Chinese dissident who—according to reports—went to the U.S. embassy.  Meanwhile, One World Trade Center became the tallest structure in New York when it surpassed the height of the Empire State Building.
  66. 2013 Tuesday: Apple, Inc. initiates the largest-ever non-bank bond offering at $17 billion.  Elsewhere, jihadists do what they do best and that is, they carry out a bombing on an unsuspecting population.  Today, in Damascus, Syria, they set off a bomb that blows 13 people to kingdom come while living many more wishing they had gone with them.  Horrible flipping people.
  67. 2014 Wednesday: In Clarkston, Washington, Larry Ramos—guitarist/vocalist with the Association[iii]—lost his battle with skin cancer on this date; he was 72 years-old.  Meanwhile, the Yemeni army has lost at least 30 people in ongoing battles with al-Qaida thugs.   Elsewhere, the Sultan of Brunei has announced the new institution of laws that would make Islamic law supreme what with floggings, amputations, and stoning of guilty folks.  We won’t be visiting there anytime soon.
  68. 2015 Thursday: U.S. Senator Bernie Sanders, I-Vermont, announces his bid to seek the Democratic Party’s 2016 presidential nomination.  Elsewhere, following the seizure of a Danish-owned tanker by the Iranians, the U.S. Navy says it will escort American-flagged ships through the Strait of Hormuz to prevent further such criminal actions.
  69. 2016 Saturday: The Italian coast guard is plying the waters off the coast of Libya.  A migrant raft jam-packed with Muslim refugees began floundering with the loss of at least 70 people and only 26 or 27 people rescued.  Elsewhere, a heatwave in India continues claiming lives with 300 people so far succumbing to record temperatures.  If only these poor people had air-conditioning; then again, environmentalists HATE air-conditioning, believing it WRECKS the environment.  Dumb asses.
  70. 2017 Sunday: At a pool party in San Diego, California, a pool party goes up in smoke as a shooter kills one person outright, wounds another seven and then is shot and killed by the police.  Elsewhere, budget negotiators in Congress come to a bipartisan agreement on the budget for FY 2017.  The deal will fund the federal government through September 30 while the current budget expires on May 05.
  71. 2018 Monday: Marvel’s “Avengers: Infinity War” sets new opening weekend box office record raking in $250 million in the United States and another $630 million around the planet.  Meanwhile, in Baghdad, the criminal court sentences a load of women from several different countries to life in prison for purportedly belonging to ISIS.  The tally included 19 Russians, six Azerbaijani, and four Tajikistani women.  Life is going to be rough for them.
  72. 2019 Tuesday: Japan’s Emperor Akihito announces he is stepping down at an abdication ceremony in Tokyo, effective the following day.  Naruhito will be the new emperor.   Elsewhere, Canada expresses its outrage over the second of its citizens condemned to death in the People’s Republic of China this year.  Fan Wei received the sentence for his supposed production of and transportation of methamphetamine.  Prime Minister Justin Trudeau expresses his anger while pleading for clemency.
  73. 2020 Thursday: Thanks to the Kung Flu trashing the United States, another 3.6 million unemployment claims pushes total unemployment numbers for Americans over 30 million.  AND the Chinese find offense in the growing world anger directed towards them!  Millions of people around the world now believe that COVID-19 was something deliberately released onto the world following Beijing being forced to sign the new U.S.-China Trade Accord.  We shall see.  Current numbers for the Wuhan Virus Crisis Pandemic for the world rest at 3,249,022 confirmed cases what with 230,804 confirmed deaths but 1,006,112 confirmed recoveries.  Meanwhile, in the United States, confirmed cases rest at 1,079,780, confirmed deaths stand at 62,603 but confirmed recoveries are 127,950.  Additionally, more states are beginning to release restrictions and businesses are beginning to reopen.  However, in California, Gov. Gavin Newsom issues a new order today in which all beaches along the state’s enormous coastline are now closed.   (Gavin, if you close the beaches, we will go to the mountains, the lakes, the forests, even the deserts to disobey your authoritarian orders).  In addition to this, we now know that Gov. Newsom is spending $1 billion in communist China to purchase (shoddy) PPE items for the state.  F**king China lover.
  74. 2021 Friday:  you know the drill…

ALBUM OF THE DAY AT THE AICPENDBLOG.COM:

We said it before and we’ll say it again: Michael Schenker is always on a musical quest much like Carlos Santana and he always puts together good groups with which to get his musical talents across to his millions of fans.  “Resurrection” came out under the moniker “Michael Schenker Fest” on July 04, 2019.  The band featured an amalgam of his musical friends including vocalist Graham Bonnet, Gary Barden, Robin McAuley, and Doogie White plus his usual rhythm section adding the power punch that this mad axman requires to light stages ablaze and melt the minds of his beloved fans.  We hope you will seek this one out and consider adding it to your ever-growing collection; you will be glad you did.

109. TODAY IN HISTORY—MONDAY, APRIL 19, 2021

SS. 1993 Monday: The 51-day siege at the Branch Davidian compound in Waco, Texas, ended as fire destroyed the structure after federal agents began smashing their way in; dozens of people, including cult leader David Koresh, lost their lives in the conflagration. This date marked the first time in American history in which the government of the United States used tanks and other military hardware against American citizens and neither President Bill Clinton nor his attorney general, Janet Reno, has had to answer for this monstrous crime.

  68. 2021 Monday C: Now that Mo has relocated to Israel, let’s look at the statistics there: 837,047 confirmed cases, 6,335 confirmed deaths, and 828,488 confirmed recoveries.   Let’s look at one non-country- Dominican Republic, a place where horrible attacks on U.S. tourists seem to occur with shocking regularity: 261,129 cases of the virus, 3,418 confirmed deaths and 218,724 confirmed recoveries.[xi]
  69. 2021 Monday D:   STOCK MARKET CLOSES/PRECIOUS AND RARE METALS: DOW Jones Industrial Average: 34,077.63, DOWN 123.04 points (-0.36%).  Next, the NASDAQ: 13,914.76, DOWN 137.58 points (-0.98%).  Finally, here are the stats for the S&P 500: 4,163.06, DOWN 22.21 points (-0.53%).  The price of Light Sweet Crude Oil is $63.59 per barrel, +0.17 (+0.27%).  The price of GOLD is $1,770.80 per troy oz., +0.20 (+0.01%) while the price of SILVER is $25.86 per troy ounce, +0.02 (+0.09%).  The price of PLATINUM is $1,211.70 per troy oz, +5.20 (+0.43%) while the price of COPPER is $4.24 per pound, -0.00 (-0.01%).[xii]  The price of PALLADIUM is $2,797.85 per troy oz, +20.35 (+0.73%).[xiii] The price of RHODIUM is $29,000.00 per troy oz., +400.00 (+1.40%).[xiv]    Currently, Bitcoin, one U.S. greenback = 0.000018.  As for Chi-Com money, one-dollar U.S. = 6.51 Chinese yuan.  Meanwhile, one-dollar U.S. = 0.83 euros and in Mexican pesos equals 19.82.     In Hong Kong dollar, one greenback equals 7.77 and in Hungarian Forint, a buck equals 299.57.[xv]
  70. 2021 Monday E: U.S. NATIONAL DEBT AND GASOLINE PRICES IN THE THREE STATES IN WHICH WE HAVE CHEF-AUTHORS- Thanks to the Biden administration, gasoline prices continue rising by the day- in California, gasoline prices have risen to over $3.971 per gallon, $2.822 in Florida, $3.734 in Hawaii, and $3.374 in Washington state.[xvi]    Let’s look at one other location- Kentucky: $2.734.  Meanwhile, here is a snapshot of the U.S. National Debt for today: $28,190,082,334,572 and the Democrats are adding TRILLIONS of dollars to it, not BILLIONS but flipping TRILLIONS.[xvii]  Cloward and Piven causing problems like they always do.
  71. 2021 Monday F: MISCELLANEOUS NEWS I- Governor Ron DeSantis,[xviii] R-FL, signs the most pro-law enforcement bill on the books and also has consequences for violent rioters.  God bless you, sir!  Next, a poll in New York state says that ’54-percent of the voters view Governor Andrew “Killer” Cuomo, aka the Love Go, aka the Gropin’ Gov, with disdain.  Another poll tried to say the voters would vote for this POS again but no one believes that.  Speaking of the Empire State, a judge rules that the case, N.Y. v. Amazon will remain at the state level and not move up the chain to the federal level.   In other interesting “Killer” Cuomo news, N.Y. Attorney General Leticia James may be ‘reviewing’ the erstwhile governor’s autobiographical ‘novel’ of the great job he did during the Chinese Virus pandemic, the one in which, he consigned tens of thousands of New York’s elderly and ill to their deaths.
  72. 2021 Monday G: MISCELLANEOUS NEWS II- The Texas House of Representatives okays a bill dropping permits to open-carry firearms in the state.  Speaking of the Lone Star State, the former Austin Police Department detective sought in the shooting deaths of three people yesterday has been scooped up in police custody.   Next, President Donald J. Trump advises decrepit Joe Biden NOT to withdraw U.S. troops from Afghanistan on the symbolic date of September 11, 2021, the 20-year-anniversary of the Islamist attack on New York City, on the Pentagon, and on a field in Shanksville, Pennsylvania.  Will old drooling Joe Biden listen to the sage advice?  Most likely not.
  73. 2021 Monday H: MISCELLANEOUS NEWS III- Elsewhere, Congresswoman Marjorie Taylor Greene, R-GA 14th congressional district, is putting forth a bill demanding the expulsion of lunatic Congresswoman Maxine “Prune Face” Waters, DS-CA 43rd congressional district, over her visit to Minnesota over the weekend to encourage VIOLENCE no matter the outcome of the murder trial of Officer Derek Chauvin.  House Speaker Nancy “Mumbles” Pelosi, DS-CA 12th congressional district, is standing by her fellow octogenarian by saying, “She did nothing wrong.”  Both of these imbeciles must be voted out of office or impeached and removed.   In the case of “Prune Face” Waters, she should be doing time prison.  (Dr. Alan Dershowitz says that ‘Maxine Waters singlehandedly may have caused a mistrial due to her careless words.’[xix]   In other news, as the deathwatch of Putin critic Alexei Navalny begins, Joe Biden begins uttering some incoherent words in defense of the imprisoned freedom fighter.
  74. 2021 Monday I: MISCELLANEOUS NEWS IV- Congressman Steve Stivers, R-OH 15th congressional district is resigning his seat to head his state’s Chamber of Commerce.   Next, a Jewish coalition may expel the Zionists of America for them being critical of radical anti-Semite scum such as Congresswomen Rashida “Foul Mouth” Tlaib, DS-MI 13th congressional district, and Ilhan “Allah Akbar” Omar, DS-MN 5th congressional district, by calling them out for their anti-Israel bigotry.  What did ZOA say wrong?   Next, Republican leaders are demanding a meeting with ‘Border Czar’ “Kooky Kamala” Harris so they can discuss the BORDER CRISIS, the one a word-slurring Joe Biden long claimed it wasn’t but now says it is and do something about it.  “Kooky Kamala” Harris has crisscrossed the country but has gone NOWHERE near the border since coming into office.  Speaking of the BORDER CRISIS, Joe Biden issued new rules to Customs and Border Patrol telling them ‘NO LONGER can they use the words ‘illegal alien’ and ‘assimilation’ when discussing the ILLEGAL ALIEN INVADERS POURING ACROSS THE SOUTHERN BORDER.’  WTF?   Speaking of ILLEGALS, Joe Biden’s handlers pledge that fuddled old Joe is going to raise the numbers of REFUGEES accepted into the country but that his original goal of hundreds of thousands may not occur.   (Interesting note- late this afternoon, the White House began walking back Joe Biden’s mumbled statements about the ‘crisis’ on the southern border.  Maybe they’ll CANCEL JOE?).
  75. 2021 Monday J: INTERESTING HYPOCRISY OF THE DAY-  Facebook is now censoring criticism of Black Lives Matter skank Patrice Cullors who has purchased several million dollars’ worth of real estate using money donated to BLM by dimwits such as FB cofounder Dustin Moskovitz who gave $5 million to the Marxist organization.  We cannot have people calling out LIBERAL HYPOCRISY now can we and so the great social media platform won’t let anyone call them out on it.
  76. 2021 Monday K: CRIME AND PUNISHMENT- After the defense wrapped up its closing arguments in the trial of Minneapolis Police Officer Derek Chauvin, the jury now has the case and cities from Minneapolis to Chicago to Washington, D.C. to Los Angeles, California, to Portland, Oregon, are all preparing for out of control riots should he be acquitted on ALL charges.  Judge Peter Cahill says, ‘it will be an easy appeal what with Congresswoman Maxine “Prune Face” Waters urging VIOLENCE on American society NO MATTER WHAT VERDICT THE JURY DELIVERS.  (Note- we have said this and will continue saying it, ‘we think Officer Chauvin is going to get off.  Completely.  The blame will rest on liberal Democrats.  Period.  We think that had not the liberals involved themselves, had not the city of Minneapolis paid George Floyd’s family in the week prior to the start of the trial, they may have gotten a just verdict whereas now- as with George Zimmerman, aka the “White Hispanic,” they won’t get the verdict they seek.  IF they do, Chauvin will beat it on appeal).
  77. 2021 Monday L: NOTABLE DEATH- Former Vice President Walter F. Mondale who served under President Jimmy Carter from January 20, 1977 to January 20, 1981 died today in Minneapolis, Minnesota, at the age of 93.  He also was the Democratic Party’s standard-bearer in 1984 with New York Congresswoman Geraldine Ferraro, D-NY 9th congressional district as his running mate.  They were soundly defeated by President Ronald Reagan.  Bon voyage, Mr. Vice President.   In other notable news, we learn today that Capitol Hill Police Officer Brian Sicknick did not die from having his head ‘stoved in with a fire extinguisher’ as multiple media sources proclaimed for months on end during the FALSE FLAG OPERATION on January 06, 2021 but from a combination of two strokes caused by chemical irritants sprayed in his face by Antifa ‘protesters.’

ALBUM OF THE DAY AT THE AICPENDBLOG.COM:

The unstoppable rock band from England- UFO- released their next studio effort- “A Conspiracy of Stars”- on February 23, 2015.  Once again, the band featured the quintet of Phil Mogg (vocals), Vinnie Moore (all guitars), Paul Raymond (keyboards), Rob De Luca (bass), and Andy Parker (drums and percussion).  As usual, the band was at top form and fans of the band were in awe of this effort.  Many of the bands that came out of the late 1960s are no longer active but UFO has never gone away nor have their various side projects and endeavors.  We encourage everyone to go out and seek this album out NOW, give it a good listen, and then add it to your collection- you will be glad you did.  Enjoy!

ENDNOTES:

[i] We began presenting the music of the Animals, of Eric Burdon and the Animals, of Eric Burdon, Eric Burdon and War, and War beginning on Monday, 08-June-2015 and the presentation ran through Sunday, 02-August-2015.  We hope you will seek them out and consider making them a part of your listening pleasure.

[ii] We promoted the music of the Association beginning on Wednesday, 25-September-2013 through Monday, 07-October-2013.  These guys were amazing, we hope you will check them out and consider adding them to your growing collection of albums and CDs.

[iii] We began promoting the music of the famed California surf-rock band, the Turtles, beginning on Tuesday, 03-September-2013 through Friday, 13-September-2013.

[iv] Nationalist China is FREE China, the true owners of mainland China.  Driven off the mainland by the Reds in 1948-49 to the island of Formosa, renamed Taiwan, these people held the seat in the United Nations now held by the communists.  Many believe it is high time we return to a Two-China Policy that would recognize both the Free and the communist governments would benefit the entire world.  Many also believe it is time to boot Red China out of the UN and welcome Taiwan back in, especially since the communists gave the world the COVID-19 Wuhan Virus Crisis.

[v] As usual, our main sources for the heroic Battle of Dien Bien Phu in which several thousand French Union troops fought against tens of thousands of ravenous communist soldiers comes from “The Last Valley” by Martin Windrow, De Capo Press, 2006.

[vi] We presented another series of interconnected bands which included Free, Bad Company, Led Zeppelin, the Firm, Mott the Hoople, Ian Hunter, the Yardbirds, and a plethora of solo and group efforts beginning on Wednesday, 02-July-2014 through Sunday, 19-October-2014.  We definitely hope that you will seek this music out and consider adding it to your growing collection.

[vii] We promoted the music of both Koss and Back Street Crawler when we did the previous batch of famed British bands.

[viii] We are hopeful we will present the music of the Band and of its individual members sometime in 2024-2025.  Great music by a superb band

[ix] Bing has returned to reporting update numbers (well, mostly).  Here is the link: (1) covid-19 u.s. and global statistics – Bing

[x] Speaking of the decision to flip the game from Atlanta to Denver, we learned today that unsavory people like Stacey Abrams and the big dimwit, the pro-Chi-Com-loving LeBron James were integral in getting the game moved.  How outrageous.  How evil.  Scumbags.

[xix] You know, we suspect she may have done this on purpose so that violence does indeed break out, violence she believes she can use to her benefit.  Wouldn’t it be great if an unruly mob showed up outside her home?

Newsom is spending $1 billion in communist China to purchase (shoddy) PPE items for the state. F**king China lover.

ALBUM OF THE DAY AT THE AICPENDBLOG.COM:

#PF001.1k Meddle #11 04-19-2020 (400)

Pink Floyd released its next album, “Meddle,” on November 05, 1971. Although somewhat loose in the flow of music- not based around a central theme- it was a joy to behold with one’s greedy ears. The opening track features what one might consider to be a follow up to the tune, “Careful with that Ax, Eugene,” from a few albums back. Other tunes bear the possibility of AM airplay while side two consists of a lengthy musical exposition into the corners of the creative musical mind. We hope you will seek this amazing album out and consider making it a part of your collection as we believe you will definitely enjoy it. We thank you.

[v] We presented another series of interconnected bands which included Free, Bad Company, Led Zeppelin, the Firm, Mott the Hoople, Ian Hunter, the Yardbirds, and a plethora of solo and group efforts beginning on Wednesday, 02-July-2014 through Sunday, 19-October-2014. We definitely hope that you will seek this music out and consider adding it to your growing collection.

[vi] We promoted the music of both Koss and Back Street Crawler when we did the previous batch of famed British bands.

[vii] We are hopeful we will present the music of the Band and of its individual members sometime in 2024-2025. Great music by a superb band

Just the Facts: one thing and one thing only is going to happen in November 2020: Donald Trump will win a landslide victory for a second term

This is madness in and of itself, and folks, the election in November 2020 is going to be so lopsided as the American people vote to protect gains already made and to bring still more to the people of the country is going to be in which, we say “ENOUGH! Stop the Democrats- perhaps, for good.”

SPRING SESSION 2019

BLOG POST #3,103 AT THE AICP-END

554 DAYS UNTIL ELECTION DAY 2020

The Democrats are committing a mass act of hara-kiri

Santa Barbara, CA, 04-30-2019 Tuesday:  I would like to reach out to the Democrats and tell them that what they are doing to ‘take down’ President Trump is NOT working and that if anything, it is going to enable HIM to mop the floor with their 2020 candidates and then destroy them as a party.  After all, who the heck likes spoiled grapes, the sniveling crybabies are more concerned with the 2016 Election than winning the 2020 Election which is 554 days away.  My, my, my!

Still, for some unknown reason, the Democrats are like the proverbial dog worrying a bone.  All the meat and gristle are long gone, the marrow removed and consumed, and the only thing remaining is the memorable pleasure the bone once provided the dog- yet, he continues gnawing it.

Bit by bit, the ratings of the president have continued increasing just as have all the various economic factors.  I know we have hired not one, not two, but three new cooks for the kitchen as well as a baker’s assistant.  If we did not have confidence that the economy was going to continue improving instead of stagnating, we would have hired none of those workers PLUS we gave them more than two bucks over the going wage; go figure.

The Democrats- as we all know- put the souls of their mothers into the basket that Special Counsel Robert S. Mueller III was carrying about as he investigated under this stone and that, seeking Russian Collusion.  Imagine that.  The Dems risked the souls of their beloved mothers, putting all their chips on the Russian Collusion Hoax bearing some sort of festering fruit and lo and behold, the man came up DRY- even with all the anti-Trump hacks he had working for him.  Wow.  Go figure.

I am beginning to think that some dark forces within the Democratic Party are driving them to obliteration, in the same style that the Lord unleashed havoc on Sodom and Gomorrah because the twin cities were downright sinful.  The Dems have it coming because their behavior has been so egregious they deserve being consumed in a hail of fire and brimstone.  Cannot wait to see that.

We also hear that President Donald Trump has more money NOW in his reelection campaign war chest than President Obama did at the same time.  We hear that the majority of donors are sending him $200 or less which means he can continue going to the well for more and more.  My wife and I sent him a couple of checks already and plan on sending him more; woe to the Democrats seeking to unseat him.

Even more stunning is that the ‘extremely diverse’ Democratic Party, the one that has all manner of candidates vying to win the nomination could already be settling on two old white guys:  former Vice President Joe Biden and the nut of nuts, “Crazy” Bernie Sanders with a gay white guy vying for the vice presidential slot, good old “Mayor Pete.”

Now, we continually hear how the eventual nominee should ‘represent the party and the people of this country,’ one they claim is no longer majority white, old, and wealthy yet there they go, settling on the old favorite and the other one who says things no other sane politician would ever say like ‘let’s give the Boston bomber the right to vote from the joint;’ what?  What sort of nonsense is that?

Everything the Democrats are running on is a big turn-off and remember, I started life on the far side of the left fringes of the party, in the Peace and Freedom Party.  We joined that party as it was a sure-fire way to go to bed with all sorts of women but as life passed and my family and I became wealthy and an owner of property, gradually, I moved farther and farther right although I still remain an independent as I cannot surrender the notion that I am somewhat liberal.

The liberalness I still carry around in my heart in no way resembles the lunacy the modern-day Democratic Party carries around with it.  Take for instance, the Green New Deal, the one the little squeaky-voiced, bucktoothed Puerto Rican from New York cooked up in her meth lab with which to addict the millennials and generation x folks.

To implement it would DESTROY the country as we know it which would impoverish everyone and put us into a depressing Orwellian-style “1984” state, one in which there would be the Party and the Proles.  I think we know who would be who.

Instead of working to STOP the insanity along our southern border, instead of working to protect and strengthen Social Security and Medicare, these breathless goobers want to destroy the existing order so they can replace it with Venezuelan-style madness.

This is madness in and of itself, and folks, the election in November 2020 is going to be so lopsided as the American people vote to protect gains already made and to bring still more to the people of the country is going to be in which, we say “ENOUGH!  Stop the Democrats- perhaps, for good.”

We will continue looking at more of the crazy things going on, why being a liberal is fine but being a nut is NOT.  We owe a lot to our kids and their kids, things the Democrats now want to take away with the promise that whatever they replace them with will somehow be ‘better.’  Don’t buy into the roiling witches’ brew of a pot.  Yuck.

See you tomorrow.  Thanks for being here.

Thank you!

Back in the day, I was working at a hotel in Bakersfield, California, down on Union Avenue where I met Stinkbug.  It was still nice at the time, and the area was still the original “restaurant row” of the city.  Now, I am over 70 years old and work over in Santa Barbara, CA, as a food and beverage director for a fine-dining country club.  The pictures you see here of me are facsimiles created by up-and-coming Bakersfield, California, street artist, the famed Simone.  Good work, dude, good work.

Chef James “Jimmy” Hall writes from Santa Barbara, CA.

FEATURED ALBUM OF THE DAY:

Peter Gabriel released his next solo effort, “Peter Gabriel” aka “Security” due to the sticker saying ‘Security’ slapped onto the cover to differentiate it from his three previous recordings.  The album came out on September 06, 1982.  Once again, he brought together a who’s who of rock musicians including Robert Fripp, Paul Weller, David Rhodes, and Dave Gregory (guitars), Tony Levin (bass), Jerry Marotta (drums), plus other musicians and vocalists.  This is a stunningly good album and well worth seeking out at your favorite site for music as it has one of his first big hits in the United States, “Shock the Monkey.”  We know you will enjoy it and urge everyone to seek it out, give it a listen, and then add it to your collection.

Spirit released their next live album, “Rockpalast: West Coast Legends, Volume 3,” on June 29, 2010.  The band featured a power trio of Randy California (guitars/vocals), Ed Cassidy (drums/percussion), and Larry “Fuzzy” Knight (bass).  The band romped through earlier tunes including “1984” and “I Got a Line on You,” as well as Jimi Hendrix classics like “Wild Thing,” and is a welcome addition to their discography.  Two of the three discs feature live performances while the third disc contains some newer studio tunes as well as some Randy California demos.  We hope you will seek this rarity out by visiting whomever you do to purchase your favorite rock music as it is wonderful, absolutely wonderful and very enjoyable.

The next effort by the reformed British psychedelic-blues rock band Spooky Tooth, “Nomad Poets: Live in Germany,” came out on June 17, 2007 featuring a refurbished lineup of Mike Harrison (vocals/keyboards), Gary Wright (keyboards/vocals), Michael Becker (bass), Mike Kellie (drums), and Joey Albrecht (guitars).  This amazing live album was recorded while the band was on tour in Germany.  We hope everyone will seek this album out, give it a listen, and add it to their collection; you will be glad you did.

Just the Facts: being the ‘Party of Death’ is not a good thing; Democrats should and must disassociate themselves from the abortion-at-all-stages-movement- it will lead to electoral disaster

The other issue that yanks my chain when it comes to supporting the party is WHY our leaders cannot see that there is a national emergency along our southern border, a crisis unparalleled by any in our history.  We see what is going on there when we watch the news and seeing it live makes me grateful that I live on an island 2,000 miles away.

SPRING SESSION 2019

BLOG POST #3,092 AT THE AICP-END

565 DAYS UNTIL ELECTION DAY 2020

GOOD FRIDAY 2019

I’ve done my best to avoid discussing abortion but today, well, I will

Kihei, HI, 04-19-2019 Friday:  Friends, I am writing a bit ahead because this is, after all, the week of Easter and that means, we are going to be extremely busy.  Easter on Maui is always fun, we have a large Catholic population here and both before and after church, restaurants will be humming, voices will be buzzing, and everyone will be wearing their best aloha shirt or Mumu.  Always, always lots of fun and also a day of celebration as Christ rose from the dead and showed himself to his disciples.  So grateful to have Jesus in my life.

One of the things I have avoided discussing as a Democrat and liberal is what is going on, on the abortion front.  It seems like we have catapulted over ‘women should be in control of their bodies’ to ‘let’s murder babies at all stages of development and even once they make it from the womb and into our world.’

The lunatic governor of Virginia, the guy who loves dressing up in blackface and moonwalking is also a man who said one of the worst things I have heard in the last decade and that was about ‘comforting the little baby as he or she lie on the delivery table while the mother decides if she wants to murder the defenseless human being.  What?

When I first heard Governor Northam speaking on this vile topic, he reminded me of Charles Durning’s character in the movie, “Oh, Brother Where Art Thou,”  Although a lampoon of what Southern governors might have seemed back in the 1930s, the loser in Virginia could have played the role of Mississippi incumbent Governor Menelaus “Pappy” O’Daniel in that hilarious movie.

Now, I will never become a Republican because I believe they are a repressive bunch.  I believe they want to subjugate women, drive gays back into the closet, and are not believers of science but of crackpot, ludicrous ideas that belong in the Dark Ages and not in our modern progressive times.

Back in 2015, when each chef-blogger was still contributing posts to our Facebook page, I mentioned then that ‘abortion is murder’ and that Democrats must disassociate themselves from demanding it at all times during a woman’s pregnancy.  Being the party of death is not a good place for us to be.  Gee, if I could only have anticipated where we would be some four years later.  What has happened to us in the intervening years?

Although a lifelong Democrat, I have never disguised the two things with which, I vehemently disagree with the party: unfettered abortion at all stages and never-ending illegal immigration.  Both are potential torpedoes for what our party is seeking to do as the outcry against murdering babies exiting the womb or on the delivery table is growing.

As mentioned earlier, Hawaii is a very religious state albeit a liberal one, too.  We do not believe in abortion at all times.  The two most powerful churches in the Islands- the Catholic and the Mormon Churches- both frown on the barbarity of murdering the unborn and now the newborn.  This is something we cannot abide and it must end.

Still, when Barack Obama was our president, we seemed to see a spike in the number of illegals and refugees being resettled here, which made no one happy.  Still, good troopers that we are, we grinned and bore it.  Now, we fear that President Trump might scoop up gobs of the illegal aliens and begin dumping them here in the islands.

You see, we are no stranger to this kind of thing because- like it or not- mainland mayors and governors have long made a practice of giving their homeless one-way tickets to the islands because one can live outdoors almost eleven months out of the year without contending with the cold.

Oh, you don’t believe me it gets cold here.  Well, let me educate you, when it gets extremely cold on Haleakala in mid-to-late December and early January, it can snow up there.  The standing joke is that one can ‘ski in the morning and go windsurfing in the afternoon.’  The cold winds blow down the side of the volcano onto the isthmus down below and boy, oh, boy, it can and does get very cold.

Back to the topic at hand, we are not thrilled when we see the numbers of homeless spike.  It puts a strain on our resources, it drives tourists to be careful where they go or how long they stay at a beach in the late afternoon and early evening.  Do not even get me started about encampments in the Iao Valley or in the West Maui Mountains.  Not good, folks, not good.

I hope that Mazie, Brian, and Tulsi hear my words when it comes to homelessness and abortion.  Not all Democrats support these ‘causes.’  No, we support sanity and expect our politicians to represent how we feel here at home and not how the haeoles feel on the mainland.

Aloha, folks; we will meet again tomorrow.

I must say I am amazed that the AICP-END Blog would send up-and-coming Bakersfield, California, street artist, the amazing Simone to Maui to do some photographic portraits of me.  We have moved in this direction since politics have turned millions of people against one another and it is important for us as employers and as private people with families to protect, that we begin covering our actual identities from those seeking to cause us problems.  I must say, Simone has done a fine job and this is a caricature of me that meets with my approval.  My husband and I live and own a restaurant in Kihei, Hawaii, and have also worked in institutional cooking at Maui’s premier hospital up in Wailuku.

FEATURED ALBUM OF THE DAY:

Keyboardist Tony Banks of Genesis fame released his first solo album, “A Curious Feeling,” on October 08, 1979.  Although the album received some harsh reviews from the music critics, the style of music here was completely different from what Genesis performed so what the heck, right?  The artist performed most all of the instruments but joining him were drummer Chester Thompson and Kim Beacon on vocals.  We hope you will dismiss whatever negative reviews you might find and give this album the attention it deserves; you will not be disappointed.

Jo-Jo Gunne reformed with Jay Ferguson (vocals/percussion/keyboards), and Mark Andes (bass/vocals), Matt Andes (lead guitar/backing vocals) and William “Curly” Smith (drums).  Ferguson is an awesome songwriter, his music is excellent and his lyrics, creative and humorous at times which adds to the allure.  The new album, “Big Chain” came out on Mary 17, 2005 and contains some re-recordings of the best tunes the band ever created including “Run-Run-Run,” “Babylon,” and “Shake that Fat” as well as some new stuff.  We hope you will seek this album out by visiting whatever site you visit to shop for the best rock-and-roll music as this one definitely is a must-own offering.

Ian McLagan released his next effort, “Rise and Shine,” on March 07, 2000, an album that featured his own band, “The Bump Band.”  Joining him were “Scrappy” Judd Newcomb and Gurf Morlix(guitars/vocals), drummer/percussionist Don Harvey, George Reiff (bass/vocals) and some vocalists to round the sound out.  This album is delightful and we hope that every reader of the blogs will seek this album out by visiting your favorite site for music.
