JTF: Where Democrats possess near complete control for decades, the end result is decay, destitution, destruction, degeneracy, and death- welcome to California

The Smiler wants to do away with all fossil fuels so we can live the dream the leftist environmentalists continue bragging about, a dream so distant, a dream so laughable, that every single day of the week, people are piling their household goods into the backs of U-Haul trucks, onto the tops of their cars and into the backs of their pickup trucks like Dust Bowl refugees of the 1930s and heading back to the Midwest.

FALL SESSION 2019

BLOG POST #3,316 AT THE AICP-END

342 DAYS UNTIL ELECTION DAY 2020

California’s golden dream is dying, thanks to the Democrats…

San Diego, CA 92122, 11-29-2019 Friday:  IF you live in the crumbling Golden State AND you watch television, you see these ads from, I think, “Keep California Golden,” or some opossum feces such as that, in which, the narrator says he, as California, is ‘leaving this and that to the people of California as long as they promise to care for it and to pass it on the way they found it.”  If you have seen these vexing PSAs you understand that it is a load of crap and that our state is rapidly becoming a binary one in which, we have loads of wealthy people littering the top and even more folks living in poverty at the bottom.  It is not what it was when I was younger and sadly since Gov. Pete Wilson left office, we have been in a long, slow decline.

The ads are crap, mis amigos, but then, I already said that.  IF the narrator of the commercial mentioned something like, ‘and California, I charge each of you, rich and poor alike, not to let homeless destitute drug addicts drop their trousers and leave a big steaming load of fecal matter there for everyone to step in as they attempt to avoid other piles and big slick patches all over the sidewalk of half-dried drug addict urine.’

Everyone I know laughs at these so-called ‘public service announcements’ about ‘protecting’ what we have here in our once-golden state, because it is clear that if you venture into any city along the coast or up the central valley region, you will see disgusting piles of human waste and puddles of urine what with used hypodermic needles floating in them or littering the streets.

If you go out walking with your dogs in the morning, you will see signs up and down major streets proclaiming this group and that group claims responsibility for keeping a stretch of road clean.  Well, I may see the signs but there is scant evidence that anyone is honoring their word so they can maintain the sign that acknowledges their ‘non-existent public service.’

San Diego is not immune from this sort of neglect as we always have Democrats running the show.  They all toe the line with whatever bull crap emanates out of Sacramento from our beloved governor, the “Smiler,” Gavin Newsom.  This loser is happy to preside over the downfall of the state all the while proclaiming he is working for US and for OUR STATE.  He is the worst.

I think that he and our state attorney-general, the not-so-illustrious Xavier Becerra, like seeing the state the way it is because they can then use the misery and sadness that seems to permeate everything here as yet another avenue with which they can blame Donald Trump, even though Republicans have had NO control here for about two decades.

For those of us unwilling to pull up stakes and move to friendlier environs, we see the costs of doing business going up by the day.  The cost of power, the cost of paying taxes, the costs of supplies coupled with an ever-increasing minimum wage which is driving up the cost of everything, almost like a VAT tax, is causing one restaurant after another to close.

Businesses cannot keep their doors open if they are paying out more than is coming in and as businesses close one by one so do the companies that supply them.  Everyone from the food and beverage services to uniform and laundry companies are having a grim time maintaining their employees and providing them full-time hours, because unlike other parts of the country where the Trump economy is booming, we are in a state that is contracting.

Our blog is based in Oildale, California, part of Greater Bakersfield and even there, where the economy is doing somewhat better, restaurants are closing.  A place that my wife and I have enjoyed dining at over the years- Café Med- is closing after 28 years in business and right before the holidays.

Chef-owner Meir Brown has run a quality establishment for a long, long time and was unable to keep up with the costs of doing business over the summer, which he says hit $8,500 per month.  This included compensating 50 employees, paying rent, paying for gas and electric, and paying for supplies.

Every restaurant has to suffer these costs and for many, with the California minimum wage creeping up all the time, people have to determine whether it is even worth doing business.

It seems like every day, another chain restaurant opens up just do the ever-present food trucks, many of them unlicensed and devoid of health inspections.  If you go to an event like a live show or a sporting event at night, the moment you exit, all sorts of illegal aliens have grills set up where they cook mystery meat stuffed into tacos and burritos.

Like spending time in the Caribbean, anyone with common sense understands that to eat ‘street food’ is to put one’s life at risk.  Yet, here are these illegal vendors selling dog or cat meat and very seldom is it worth the trouble of a cop or health inspector showing up.

Anyone who purchases food from these people or a food truck or from a chain restaurant is stabbing local restauranteurs in the heart.  Our business is struggling to survive and I am not sure how long my kids will be able to keep the family-owned operation alive and well but if we do not flip the state from deepest, darkest blue to a bright blood red between here and 2024, we may as well head east with everyone else.

Gov. Newsom, I truly hope that a POS such as yourself is proud of the irreparable damage you are causing our state.  I hope we see you recalled and booted out of office because you need to go.  Take that other POS Xavier Becerra with you and don’t let the cantina door hit you in your asses on the way out.

See you tomorrow.  I hope I am in a better mood and I hope your Thanksgiving holiday was a good one.

Nos vemos entonces para la sesión de fin de semana.

JTF: Federal and state governments must run anti-marijuana PSAs with the same vigor they do vaping because vaping is far safer than conventional cigarettes while pot-smoking is indeed a public dilemma

Pot nowadays is a big business. Oh, yes, it took the pot peddlers a good 35-40-plus years to sell the idea of ‘medicinal marijuana.’ At first, it cured glaucoma and helped minimize depression. Then, it became the cure all, be-all for cancer, for stroke, for psychosis, for liver disease, for kidney disease, then heart disease, it was like, “Damn! This stuff cures virtually everything for which, you use it.”

FALL SESSION 2019

BLOG POST #3,314 AT THE AICP-END

344 DAYS UNTIL ELECTION DAY 2020

Stop the war on legitimate e-cigarette use if you are unwilling to wage the same on the ‘miracle cure-all’ marijuana…

San Diego, CA 92122, 11-27-2019 WednesdayHola, mis amigos, how is everyone doing today?  Tomorrow is Thanksgiving and I have given the family some of my precious time down at the restaurant.  We have been cleaning and cooking the turkeys and once out of the oven, we quickly begin breaking them down so we can then prepare the stock we will use for our famous gravy by steeping it overnight in the massive steam-jackets.  We put the bones, root vegetables, scraps of skin and meat, our secret mix of spices, along with a few other things, bring it all to a boil, keep it there for about 10 minutes, then drop it to low and allow it to perk overnight.  We have perhaps one of the BEST gravies in all of metropolitan San Diego and attract loads of diners for our annual holiday bashes.

The good thing about retirement is that I can work when I choose and then head for home when I become tired which seems to be more frequent these days.  My over-all health is not what it once was but then, I hit 79 in February.  I also have a long history of smoking cigarettes and imbibing more alcohol than I probably should have but when I came up in the kitchen standing next to my dad, I learned how to smoke cigarettes and that beer was not booze but a reason for life.

I have liver and lung problems that have dogged me for the past several years but amigos, the will to live is strong and my good spirits are pervasive.  I am no quitter and I also am a veteran church goer and will always make it to Mass at least once per week.  I think the Lord knows and loves me and watches over me so what more can an aged chef ask?  Maybe making it through the next presidential election so I can cast my vote for Donald J. Trump?

Speaking of tobacco, a few years ago, I stopped smoking cigarettes and began vaping.  I will admit, I am somewhat stunned at the war on vaping.  It seems that the goodie-two-shoes and liberal busybodies hate tobacco in every form but you never hear them talk about the dangers of smoking the ganga.  Now that, my friends, is pure loco.

Being a proud Latino male, I am no stranger to smoking the reefer.  As a young man, it was a welcome alternative to drinking booze.  Of course as I grew up and moved into running my father’s business, I stopped smoking the stuff.  There was no way I could become a competent restauranteur if I was stoned out of my gourd and folks, the stuff we smoked back in the 1950s, 1960s, and early 1970s was nowhere near the crazy whacky weed the young people are smoking now.  Nowhere even close!

Now that sort of reminds us how we know from history that back at the turn of the 20th century, cocaine and opium were curing all manner of fatal and debilitating diseases.  It was in cough syrup, it was in tonics, it was in tinctures, hell, it was in the Coca-Cola®, where the heck do you think the name, “Coca-Cola®” comes from?  It comes from the coca leaf, the parent of cocaine, and it was a major ingredient in the soda.

Now, I could give a hoot if people want to smoke pot recreationally or they use it to cure their glaucoma.  However, when the powers that be push it as though it is some sort of magical cure all sent to the Earth by God Almighty, I have no choice other than to disagree.

We have enough problems already and what with the appearance of edibles and all manner of other products designed for maximum penetration of the United States, why do we need to make pot legal when it is one-hundred-times stronger now than it was 40 years ago?  It makes no sense.

Yet, there was Sen. Cory Booker, in the last debate[i], pandering to the younger folks, accusing former Vice President Joe Biden of being ‘high’ when he made some remarks critical about the pakalolo.

Mr. Biden has every right to say we ‘should study the stuff’ because where do you think all these homeless and destitute drug users started?  Sure, some with booze but more than likely, they were out there smoking the powerful reefer and now find themselves mentally deficient and living like urban outdoorsmen, crapping and peeing on the streets.  It ain’t good.

Still, politicians attack tobacco and want to destroy cigarettes and e-cigarettes.  Yet, tobacco pays for so many programs, that wiping it out would destroy massive tax revenues much like our estúpido Governor Gavin Newsom waging war on fracking.  Once the industry is gone, so, too, is the tax monies derived from it and the state will descend even deeper into the liberal-created morass of hopelessness, destitution, homelessness, and poverty.

As far as I know, everyone who developed lung disease or died from vaping was NOT vaping tobacco products.  Some might have been the flavors, but who needs flavors, all we need is the tobacco.  The culprit seems more like ILLEGAL THC additives to the vape liquid that contain vitamin E that for some reason the lungs have a challenging time absorbing and so people find themselves in pulmonary distress.

Federal and state governments, how about this: HOW about running commercials against pot with the same vigor you do against vaping.  Vaping is GOOD for those of us who want less harmful means of getting nicotine into our bodies or for those who wish to quit for good.   Pot, on the other hand, is a mind-altering drug, plain and simple.  Sure, it might aid glaucoma sufferers but for most anything else, it is a disaster.

Stop being hypocrites.  Enough is enough.  Oh, by the way, let’s impeach Gavin Newsom NOW.

See you tomorrow.

#MOI001.2u Guitar #47 09-30-2019 (400)

Today’s album is Frank Zappa’s thirtieth solo album, “Guitar,” which came out on April 26, 1988 and gave Mr. Zappa the opportunity to demonstrate his unique prowess on the guitar.  Joining him are numerous amazing musicians such as Ray White, Steve Val, Ike Willis, Denny Valley on guitars as well as bassists Scott Thunes and Arthur Barrow.  Also featured here are keyboardists Tommy Mars and Bobby Martin as well as drummers Ed Mann and Charles Wackerman among others.  Due to the musical topics and lyrical stances Mr. Zappa took over the course of his life, it is a shame he did not get more respect for his musical abilities but instead remained in an odd area within music.  However, we highly recommend all his work and believe that you should pick up this exceptional album—you are going to love it. Go to Amazon.com NOW and buy it.

Just the Facts: when everyone from Bernie to Biden to Beto to Buttigieg have bloodied and crippled one another, then, and only then, will Michelle and Hillary enter the fray- that is MY prediction

Long, long ago here at the American Institute of Culinary Politics-Elemental News of the Day, I was among the first to say that Michelle Obama would be the presidential nominee of her party. That’s right. I said it. I said it, however, not in 2015 or 2016 but back on October 27, 2013. That’s right, again, folks, I said it thinking that she was the ONLY one who would carry on the policies of her hubby because her hubby would be the de facto president behind the scenes.

SPRING SESSION 2019

BLOG POST #3,122 AT THE AICP-END

535 DAYS UNTIL ELECTION DAY 2020

I said it in October 2013 and will say it again now: I expected Michelle Obama to be the eventual 2016 nominee of the Democratic Party just as I now expect her to be the 2020 nominee- it’s inevitable…

Kula, HI, 05-19-2019 Sunday:  This past Thursday, we saw another entrant into the Democratic 2020 sweepstakes leap into the race, New York City Mayor Bill Di Blasio and almost immediately, people across the city and around the Empire State began booing and hissing at the guy, calling him a ‘liar’ and mocking him.  Granted, folks, there is much to mock because that man seems like the number one boob in a race full of boobs.  How he even won reelection as a mayor is mind-blowing, IF voters had appeared in greater numbers than they did, neither him nor Bug Eyes would have won their elections.  Yet, both Di Blasio and Alexandria Ocasio Cortez did win.

I would have thought that disgraced and now-out-of-jail Democratic pervert, Anthony Weiner, would have won the mayoral race before he found himself in trouble yet again, sexting photos of his junk to underage girls.  What is it with men doing this sick stuff?

Ah, well, for some odd reason, Mayor Di Blasio thinks he can do to the rest of America what he has done to New York City, basically undo everything good that GOP former mayor and current Trump attorney Rudy Giuliani did.  That man saved that city so why in God’s name did they lurch into three terms of Michael Bloomberg and now two terms of this liberal douche?  Never seen anything like it.

The Democrats have a massive number of candidates seeking the 2020 nomination of their party.  People we know well, and others, well, they might have some name recognition but many of them, uh, it makes you wonder WHY the heck they are wasting the time, spending the money, and stumping all over America to TRY to win something they will NEVER win: the presidency of the United States.

What is more fascinating is that when I predicted that Michelle would become the nominee of her party, no one had a clue that she would not seek the nomination in 2016 or that the archenemy of her husband, Donald J. Trump, would actually enter the race with the express purpose of overturning every policy of her husband, Barack, as well as destroying his legacy.  So why wouldn’t Michelle enter the race NOW?

I will make a bold new prediction now: she WILL enter the race but not yet, just as I suspect that Hillary will enter the race at some point.  The reason neither of these two women will now is that are twenty-three flipping people all vying for the nomination NOW.  Let them punch one another out to the point that all of them are bloody, with snot running down their faces, dripping off their chins and into their laps.

Then and only then will one or both seek to leap in and become the savior of their party but first, all of them- including Joe Biden, Bernie Sanders, and Mayor Pete must beat each other up to the point that all will willingly bow out of the race or will take a knockout blow to the chin while a delirious crowd screams and hoots as they go down.

It will be like when Jeff Garcia was the quarterback for, uh, I believe, the Philadelphia Eagles.  The poor guy suffered an injury and went DOWN and the Philly fans were all screaming for him to ‘STAY DOWN’ as they either wanted A.J. Feeley (a fan favorite in the city) or Koi Dettmer to come in and continue the game.  It was a sad sight to behold.  I believe the game was in 2006.

Back to the discussion at hand, it would make sense for both Michelle Obama and Hillary Clinton to linger along the sidelines, awaiting the right moment to leap into the fray and become the savior of the party.  Hence why I think Barack Obama has said nothing about his former vice president as he plans to trot out his wife so she can take over when the rest go down in flames as they inevitably will.

I think Hillary entering the race would be about ego because many Democrats would find it appalling that once again, she- a two-time loser to be sure- would think she could somehow manage to latch onto the nomination again.  Think people booing Di Blasio is something, wait until the Bernie supporters go to town on the former first lady, presidential candidate, secretary of state, and presidential nominee: it will be ghastly.

Michelle, on the other hand, could beat President Donald Trump, more so than Joe Biden or Bernie could.  Granted, she has no actual hands-on political experience, but her entry into the race would brush aside all other challengers and WOULD lead to her winning the White House and a return to Obamaism.

One must ponder whether President Trump has even considered this or is totally oblivious to this jarring possibility?  I must wonder if the other Democrats seeking the nomination have considered this probability or if they are all going about their business as though they have nothing to fear?  The first couple of debates are going to be eyeopeners to be sure.

Friends, see you all later in the year- good Lord willing.  We shall see in six months or so whether I am on the mark or am just blowing smoke.  We shall see.  Let me know what YOU think.

Thank you and aloha.

FEATURED ALBUM OF THE DAY:

In early 1988, Mike + the Mechanics returned to the studio following the end of Genesis’ “Invisible Touch” tour and delivered another gem, the beautiful “Living Years” (October 28, 1988).  The lineup featured Mike Rutherford (guitars/basses), Paul Carrack and Paul Young (vocals), Adrian Lee (keyboards), Pete Van Hooke (drums) along with additional supporting musicians.  Once again, the album spawned several singles that received considerable airplay, although none reached the level on the charts that the ones from their debut did.  Still, this is a worthy album for fans of both the band and of the man to own so please, seek it out now wherever you shop for the best in rock music.  You will be glad you did.

On April 12, 2004, the James Gang released yet another ‘best of’ compilation, this one featuring the music of the Joe Walsh era exclusively.  “20th Century Masters,” contained the big, the medium, and the smaller cuts that defined the group and made it one of the powerhouse bands of its time.  Please, seek this one out and add it your ever-growing collection so you can enjoy it for years to come- you will be glad you did.

Ian McLagan released his next effort, “Never Say Never,” on February 28, 2008, an album that featured his own band, “The Bump Band.”  Joining him were “Scrappy” Judd Newcomb (guitars/vocals), drummer/percussionist Don Harvey, Mark Andes (bass/vocals) and some vocalists to round the sound out.  This album is delightful and we hope that every reader of the blogs will seek this album out by visiting your favorite site for music.

Just the Facts: the moment Donald Trump came down the gilded escalator at Trump Tower and announced his candidacy for president has anyone other than Abraham Lincoln been more hated and despised by half of the country

Everyone knew that Abe Lincoln despised the institution of slavery. It was appalling that human beings held other human beings in a violent servitude, a domination of one race over that of another. However, Lincoln did not run for the presidency on a platform of abolishing the horrid institution but one that would permit it to exist where it already was but would also stop its spread into new territories and states. In essence, the man was a Gradualist.

SPRING SESSION 2019

BLOG POST #3,096 AT THE AICP-END

561 DAYS UNTIL ELECTION DAY 2020

Although Abraham Lincoln and Donald J. Trump have little in common other than love for the United States, never have two men been more hated by half of the country than these two

Visalia, CA, 04-23-2019 Tuesday:  As a business owner and well-known professional chef here in Central California, I must present my best self forward every single day just as whatever I tell my guests or employees, I must do so with truth and complete honesty.  If I did not maintain an unquestionable air of candor, I think much of my business would dry up and I would become a hack.  I would never tell my guests that the deep sea scallops were something other than they were.

You see, if I was buying shark plugs and then selling them at exorbitant prices as fresh sea scallops and someone found out I was running a scam, not only would my four-star rating vanish overnight, so most likely would my entire business.  It would be great if America’s politicians could learn from this little analogy and begin doing the ‘right thing.’

As you know, if you have read our blog for any amount of time, I revere the U.S. Constitution.  This document, four simple pages, has held our nation together like the strongest, most irrevocable super glue one has ever seen.  It has allowed us to disagree with one another without resorting to violence and running amok in the streets.

Other than for the Civil War, the one the South labels as the War of Northern Aggression while those of us born and bred in the North view it as the War Between the States, we have never taken up arms against one another.   The American Civil War is (so far) the ONLY time our nation has resorted to violence and bloodshed to solve its internal issues.

We currently find ourselves riven by division, discord so deep and implacable that it resembles what we saw in the 1960s when Americans were at one another’s throats over the war then being waged in Vietnam with NO end in sight.  We saw the left fighting in the streets to end the war while the status quo and the right fought to continue fighting on behalf of the Vietnamese people and for doing what we perceived to be the right thing: fighting to keep a free people free.

We now find ourselves in a similar situation.  No president since Abraham Lincoln has faced the implacable, soul-destroying hatred that President Donald J. Trump does.  The question is why?  Why did half the country hate President Lincoln back then as they now detest our current president?  Well, let me tell you with the goal of opening some eyes.

By labeling him a Gradualist, historians view Lincoln as a man who foresaw that one day, the institution would end of its own accord as there would be no reason to hold others in bondage.  Technology would eradicate its need as would the span of time.  Nevertheless, when he won the presidency in 1860, the South was ready to bolt the Union and to do with bloodshed if it found it necessary.

Once South Carolina abandoned the States, so, too, did other Southern and Border States all because they feared that Lincoln would pull the rug out from under them, leaving their profitable and genteel way of life to stumble about in a haze of impoverishment and an upending of the races.

As you know- if you were fortunate enough to have had a fair teaching of U.S. History in school- the ensuing madness of war led to the deaths of more than 700,000 of our fellow Americans.  It led to a rending of families, divided over loyalties to one side or the other, and then its aftermath led to the struggle for civil rights which continued for approximately another century or so and which came to a head during the bloody conflict in Vietnam.

Somehow, we survived this madness.  Somehow, we recovered and repaired the damage done to our country.  Somehow, it seemed we were able to put the past behind us on our march to a united future.

Sadly, that was not to be the case.  Tragically, living amongst us were devious, despicable people, denizens of the swamp who recognized the profitability of keeping Americans at one another’s throats divided over race, religion, national origin, gender, sexual identity and whatever else they could use to pull us apart from one another instead of pushing us closer together.

Like Lincoln, Donald Trump is viewed as an interloper, an outsider, an usurper.  From the moment he came down the gilded escalator at Trump Tower to announce he was running for the presidency of the United States in the summer of 2015, his enemies aligned against him and set in motion this diabolic scheme of saying he colluded with Russia against the United States so they could drive him from office.  Horrible.

We will continue tomorrow.  I will see you then.  Thanks for joining me, the Constitutional Chef.

The above cartoonish caricature of me by Bakersfield, California, by up-and-coming street artist, Simone, resembles me back in the 1980’s when I was an Executive Sous Chef at a hotel in Monterey, California, 10-20 years later.  I originally came from Salinas, California, spent time in Fresno and Bakersfield, and currently am working at a fine-dining restaurant in Visalia, California.  I began cooking in 1967 when I apprenticed under a top chef working in the Napa Valley.

FEATURED ALBUM OF THE DAY:

Steve Hackett released his fourth solo album on June 09, 1980, “Defector,” to much acclaim.  Up to this point, this was his highest charting album.  The group remained the same as his previous one, consisting of his brother John (keyboards/synthesizers/flutes), Dik Cadbury (bass/backing vocals), Nick Magnus (keyboards), John Shearer (drums), and Pete Hicks (vocals).  This is an excellent album demonstrating the musical growth the artist would achieve.  We hope you will seek this album out at your favorite venue for nothing but the best in music as you will definitely enjoy it.

The estate of Randy California released his next solo album, a best of compilation, “The Euro-American Years 1979-1983,” on June 17, 2007.  As always, California segued between heavy-duty rock tunes and softer, more introspective tunes as he does here.  As someone who played with Jimi Hendrix for a brief period when he was young, he always finds time to do a cover or one of the tunes that the greatest guitarist in the world covered himself; here, he does “Wild Thing,” the old song by the Troggs and numerous others.  We hope you will seek this superb album by visiting whatever site you do for the finest in rock-and-roll music.  We know you will love it as much as do we.

Ian McLagan released a smoking live album on May 05, 2006, “Extra Live.”  Joining him were “Scrappy” Judd Newcomb (guitars/vocals), drummer/percussionist Don Harvey and Mark Andes (bass/vocals) and some vocalists to round the sound out.  This album is absolutely amazing, and it contains a wide selection of tunes from the course of his career.  We hope that every reader of the blogs will seek this album out by visiting your favorite site for music.
