290. TODAY IN HISTORY—FRIDAY, OCTOBER 16, 2020

Z. 1942 Friday: As the fight continues to capture Stalingrad prior to the arrival of winter, the Germans draw tantalizingly close to the Red October Tractor Factory, parts of which, they would capture on the 19th. Along their flanks up and down the Volga River, Rumanian, Hungarian, and Italian troops continue solidifying their positions believing most fighting would stop with the onset of winter. Across the Volga, the Red Army continues building a massive counterattack that would take the Axis troops by complete surprise. Elsewhere, a tropical cyclone in the Bay of Bengal kills some 60,000 people south of Calcutta.

  59. 2018 Tuesday: Liberals are screaming and moaning (what else is new?) over President Donald J. Trump’s refusal to condemn the Saudi government over the murder of Saudi American Jamal Khashoggi, journalist, killed by Saudi intelligence officers in Turkey.  Trump awaits the full story before going after the Saudis.  Meanwhile, the Pentagon says a successful drone strike in Somalia kills at least 60 al-Shabab militants and wounds numerous others.  Congratulations!  Finally, reports begin appearing that link the Chi-Coms to the arrests of more than 1 million Uighur Muslims in Xinjiang Province in western China.  They are being ‘reeducated’ in concentration camps, so says Beijing.  “Mind your own business” is more like it.

  62. 2020 Friday A: Russian President Vladimir Putin poses extending the arms treaty between his nation and the United States by one year.  In the U.S., oil majors pitch more campaign cash to the Democrats over the issue of fracking. Why they aren’t sending the money to the GOP is beyond us because if the Democrats win in November, fossil fuels and all the jobs connected to the energy industry are going to VANISH.   Elsewhere, the FCC plans to clarify 47 U.S. Code Section 230 C behind which, online ‘platforms’ such as Google, Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, and others censor conservative views while allowing leftists to get away with whatever they like.  Jack Dorsey at Twitter announced today that Twitter will NO LONGER block hacked information from appearing as long as it’s NOT the hackers posting it.  Good for you.

Trump is holding two rallies today, one in Ocala, Florida, and the other in Macon, Georgia.  Meanwhile, Mr. Biden has put a lid on his campaigning today while his running mate, “Kooky Kamala” Harris is in self-imposed quarantine since two staffers came down with the Chi-Vi.   Elsewhere, the House Republicans are querying the FBI as to ‘whether or not they had Hunter Biden’s alleged laptop during the Trump impeachment?’  We believe they did and when the president wins a second term, we hope he fires FBI Director Chris Wray, CIA Director Gina Haspel, and possibly Attorney-General Bill Barr over their blocking of the Durham Report from appearing prior to the Election.

Just the Facts: On November 7, Donald Trump will be kissing the ring fingers of House Speaker Nancy Pelosi and Senate Majority Leader Chuck Schumer, otherwise, he and his family will be headed off to prison

I fully expect that when we reclaim the House and Senate with numbers to spare and our leaders march up to the White House the day after Election Day, President Trump- if he knows what is good for him- is going to kiss the outstretched ring fingers of House Speaker Nancy Pelosi and Senate Majority Leader Chuck Schumer and of each member of their leadership retinues.

FALL SESSION 2018

BLOG POST #2,907 AT THE AICP-END

TWENTY-ONE DAYS UNTIL ELECTION DAY 2018

I reiterate a statement I made back in April; on Election Day 2018, Donald J. Trump is going to become the ‘bitch’ of the Democratic Party

Kihei, HI, 10-16-2018 Tuesday: Good morning, aloha, welcome to the Hawaii edition of the world’s greatest- and only, I must say- blog run by professional food service workers and chefs, for professional food service workers and chefs, and one that has global reach.  We do our best to spread the word to all fans of the culinary arts and the culinary masterminds who own and operate busy restaurants because among us, we have a vast source of political thought and ideology as well as real and/or potential voters.

Working with such a vast array of people from around the globe, those who are U.S. citizens give us a wide range of political thought and commentary, the sources of which make this blog possible.

You see, we have conservatives, we have liberals, we have moderates, and we have hardcore members of either the far-right or far-left, all working together in the common cause of making successful restaurants and food service enterprises and from whom we get insights into what the workingman-and-woman thinks about any given topic.

I think I can safely say that based on my interactions with our employees and our guests who come from across the country and the world that November 6, 2018, is going to witness one of those amazing yet seldom seen political blowouts.

The people are so angry, so appalled by the actions of President Donald J. Trump that they cannot wait to swamp the already overcrowded polling stations and vote out every last Republican on the ballot.

In my blog post of April 27, 2018, I said that President Donald Trump was going to be ‘our bitch’ because of our reclamation of the Senate, House, and state houses across the country we were going to see following the election.

Moreover, I said that unless the President threw in the towel and began working with and for us, him, and his family, too, would soon be on the way to federal and state prisons to do hard time for all of the nefarious business actions and activities in which, they have engaged.

In many ways, I hope President Trump elects NOT to accept the above mentioned suggestion because I think the best thing that our country can do is to impeach this fraud, this shyster, this Menehune and to remove him from office along with every member of his Cabinet, his political appointees and especially his judicial appointees.

The minute we do that, our allies around the world will view us with appreciation that the American people woke up, saw the danger (smelled the bull crap), and took charge.  We must get this man out of office as soon as possible not only for our good but for the good of the entire world.

President Trump has done everything he can to diminish our status in the eyes of the world.  His actions have emboldened the Russians and the Chinese to interfere in our elections and to hack into our secure systems in ways and in volumes heretofore unseen in our country.

Worse than that, President Trump has diminished NATO as a military alliance by picking apart its cohesiveness as a unified alliance for good by calling out German Chancellor Angela Merkel for making an energy alliance with Russia so that the European Union can continue being the economic miracle and powerhouse that it is.

Demanding that all member nations pay their ‘fair share’ to keep the North American Treaty Alliance operational smacks of President Trump bullying and intimidating our partners into doing what the Americans want and not what the alliance needs.

Not every member nation can afford to expend two-percent of its annual GDP on funding military purchases and combat readiness so why cannot the United States- the greatest nation on earth in the eyes of many- continue doing what it has always done and that is blazing the path forward not only with much-needed leadership but also with the vast warehouse of funds available to us.

President Trump has also diminished the United States on the climate change/global warming front by pulling out of the Paris Climate Accord, a document that enlists all nations to save our planet from the irreversible damage caused by a changing climate.

Why should we not sublimate ourselves to the greater good?  Once again, we need a president capable of leading the way and stopping the differences that prevent us from being a good neighbor.

Virtually everything President Trump has done has been to diminish our country in the eyes in the world.  All this talk of making America ‘great again’ chafes at the very molecular structure of our nation.

We became great by siphoning off the resources of others to our own ends, which is why we now must work together as a global partner rather than as a nation intent on forging its own way no matter how much damage we cause everyone else on the planet.

That will do it for today, my friends, note, this upcoming election is the MOST important in our lifetimes.  We cannot somehow put Hillary into the White House to make up for the debacle of 2016 but we sure as heck can neuter the imposter residing there three weeks from today.

Aloha.  See you at both blogs tomorrow.

I must say I am amazed that the AICP-END Blog would send up-and-coming Bakersfield, California, street artist, the amazing Simone to Maui to do some photographic portraits of me.  We have moved in this direction since politics have turned millions of people against one another and it is important for us as employers and as private people with families to protect, that we begin covering our actual identities from those seeking to cause us problems.  I must say, Simone has done an outstanding job and this is a caricature of me that meets with my approval.  My husband and I live and own a restaurant in Kihei, Hawaii, and have also worked in institutional cooking at Maui’s premier hospital up in Wailuku.

WE CONTINUE PROMOTING THE MUSIC OF THE GREAT BRITISH HARD ROCK BAND, TRAPEZE:

TUESDAY, OCTOBER 16, 2018

Trapeze released its sophomore effort in November 1970, “Medusa,” an effort in which, the quintet reduced to a trio what with the departures of John Jones and Terry Rowley.  The trio remained the same: Glenn Hughes (bass/vocals/piano), Mel Galley (guitars/vocals), and Dave Holland (drums).  Without the other two moderating influences, the band became much more hard rock, the quintessential power trio that could crank out the tunes and have the musical foundation to keep audiences enthralled.  We urge everyone to use the link we provide you here so you can redirect your browser to Amazon.com.  Once there, you can pick the CD up in the format, the condition, and the price that rocks your socks- you will love it.

I DO NOT SUPPORT THE NATIONAL RIFLE ASSOCIATION

FEATURED ALBUM OF THE DAY:

Although the Byrds were on their way to becoming a three-piece, four of them still participated on this effort though it would be the swan song for David Crosby.  By the time recording ended on “The Notorious Byrd Brothers,” (January 15, 1968), even drummer Michael Clarke was out because the friction existing between the highly political Crosby and the highly-frustrated Clarke, the album was still a gem, one seen by many music critics, fans of the era and of the band as a five-star effort.  We hope that you will use the link we provide you here so you can pick up the masterful effort by Roger McGuinn and Chris Hillman (and the other two) so you can visit Amazon.com and once there, pick it up in the format, the condition, and the price that works best for you.

The Sons of Champlin is a Bay Area stalwart, a band that originally formed in Marin County from the remnants of a previous band, the Opposite Six.  The new band consisted of Bill Champlin (guitars/keyboards/vocals), Terry Haggerty (guitars), Tim Cain (saxophones), John Prosser (bass), and Jim Preston (drums).  “Loosen Up Naturally,” (January 1969), proved to be a great debut effort although this band would never achieve the stardom that its fellow Bay Area rock luminaries such as the Grateful Dead, the Jefferson Airplane, Quicksilver Messenger Service, Big Brother and the Holding Company, Country Joe and the Fish, and Tower of Power would.   Please, use the link we provide you here so you can go to Amazon.com and pick it up in the format, the condition, and the price that works best for you; it’s a powerful addition to your burgeoning record collection.
