Just the Facts: Sundar Pichai- WHY are you closing Google Plus? Not because it ‘costs too much’ or that there are ‘few too users;’ no, you are closing it so you can control the flow of free speech. Shame!

All Google needs to do is to put a nominal annual charge on their social media, which would weed out many of the trolls, the Russian bots, and the keyboard warriors, leaving the serious users. Why spend time building up a community or a collection only to have them disappear sans any sort of alternative. This is Big Brother at its worst.

SPRING SESSION 2019

BLOG POST #3,064 AT THE AICP-END

593 DAYS UNTIL ELECTION DAY 2020

In less than two weeks, Google Plus will disappear as will many applications that rely on it to get out the word…

Shafter, CA, 03-22-2019 Friday:  In approximately eleven days, Google will make the biggest mistake of its short-lived career, by closing down Google Plus as well as all notifications, communities, and collections.  They claim it is because few people use the platform and that it is not worth the cost of the upkeep necessary to maintain it.  Some of my colleagues have speculated that Google is closing down its vast social media platform because they seek to control the unfettered flow of ideas, thoughts, comments, and interactions among its vast numbers of users.

While some dispute the plausibility of the reasons, I tend to agree with my colleagues that Google would rather remove something that hundreds of millions of people around the globe use.  Many use it- like Facebook- as a means of getting their messaging out, like we do.  We have been blogging at Google since late 2010 and use the Google Plus platform as a way of interacting with readers and potential readers just as millions of others do.

We suspect that when Google Plus draws its final breath sometime on April 1-2, it will cause many blog operations such as ours to see a massive decline in numbers.  We could lose as much as 75-percent of our daily views, which would be horribly sad.

However, we are not going to buckle to Google and allow them to force us to be the ones to pull the plug; no, if they want to strip the American Institute of Culinary Politics-Elemental News of the Day of its voice, then they will have to be the ones to drive the railroad spike in our backs and shut us down.

We live in a time of increasing pressure and hostility towards those who engage in free speech operations.  While I will be the one to note first that many people using Google Plus- like me- have resorted to using hate speech or improper language to attack those attacking us.

However, unlike many of the scumbags who use Google Plus (and I am sure Facebook) to their own devious ends, we have not purported to be one thing and then blasted the viewers with unexpected pornography, bestiality, gay sex, or anything else that trolls and false flag operations do just to drive viewership to their sites.

In fact, we have fingered numerous progenitors of malware, pornography, and purveyors of violent threats to the authorities for them to deal with.  It is a duty of every user of social media.  If we do not help our hosts to police their social media platforms, then how can anyone complain about the garbage mixed in with the pearls?

I believe that Google wants to control the flow of unchained free speech.  For what reason, some are afraid to say.  However, like some of my colleagues, I have no problem in saying that Sundar Pichai wants to do it because, like far too many others, they got the last presidential election wrong and the man they were loath to see win thwarted them and now sits in the White House.

Say what you will about Donald Trump, the man is hard at work for America.  While his speech and mannerism may grate on the sensibilities of many, when it comes to doing the work of the American people, in my view, he is doing an amazing job.  More black Americans, more Latino Americans, more white Americans are working and making more money than they have in a long time.

As I said yesterday, there are one million more jobs than there are people to fill them yet we have losers among the Democratic Party who want to give people who do not want to work FREE money.  WTF?  This is how the road to communism always traverses in that those promoting this failed economic and social system make all manner of promises and then once they assume power, those promises to vanish out the window.

Back to Google, I fear they intend to make things ‘right’ by restricting free speech.  Where will go?  Well, Facebook is a poor site for getting one’s message out as unless one is famous and has beaucoup followers, all one has is all one has.

Twitter is no good either as everyone understands the unspoken code ruling the roost there.  Liberals can disseminate their views with unbridled abandon but any of my conservative friends and colleagues cannot: the evil algorithms block them and do it with seeming imperviousness (which is why we hope the Devin Nunes lawsuit bears fruit).

After these sources, what are we left with?  Well, there is MeWe which- friends- something about it does not seem ‘right.’  I suspect they seek to coopt the computers of their users for what purposes as yet known to me or to anyone else I know.  All I do know is that if one signs up to use MeWe, they suddenly begin having problems with their machines so it is better to avoid them at all costs.

I know that yesterday, I said I would discuss the various Democrats seeking the 2020 nomination; however, I sidetracked myself into discussing how our blogs might end up disappearing thanks to Google slashing its social media site which will have consequences for everything else they offer.

Amigos, we will reconvene tomorrow, same bat time, same bat place.  Until then, have a super day.  Nos vemos.

As have the rest of my colleagues, local Bakersfield street artist, Simone, created these portraits of me that you will see over successive days here at the blog.  I guess Simone did ‘okay’ in capturing my likeness; I guess it could have been worse.  I was a young cook back in the early 1960’s when I commenced my culinary career.  I served underneath a Master Chef for many years before striking out on my own.  I went up the coast of the Western United States and Canada, working all the way, until I made it to Alaska.  From there, I moved to Hawaii for a couple of years (1994-1997) before I returned to Washington State and it was there that I met Stinkbug.

Just the Facts: AICP-END Blog 2018 Mid-Term California congressional district results race by race- California is a lost cause- for now

The election has come and the election has gone and now in another 727 days, we will be involved in the next election. I will say one thing before we begin looking at any other 2018 Election news and that is WHY the Fox News Channel began declaring Democrats in California ‘the winners’ with less than ONE PERCENT of the vote in- this began almost as soon as polls closed in the Golden State, a few minutes after 8:00 p.m. and it pissed me and many of the people around me off. It is not right.

727 DAYS UNTIL ELECTION DAY 2020

Here are the tallies for the U.S. House races for California 2018

Bakersfield, CA, 11-08-2018 Thursday:  The election has come and the election has gone and now in another 727 days, we will be involved in the next election.

WE CONTINUE PRESENTING THE MUSIC OF THE AWE-INSPIRING BRITISH ROCK BAND, WISHBONE ASH:

THURSDAY, NOVEMBER 08, 2018

Wishbone Ash released their next studio album, the amazing “No Smoke without Fire” on October 06, 1978.  Each studio album continued to amp up the volume and the rock and this one was no exception.  Once again, we had the same lineup, Martin Turner (bass/vocals), Laurie Wisefield (guitars/vocals), Andy Powell (guitars/vocals), and Steve Upton (drums).  The fact that this band remains with us to this day, albeit with only Powell at the helm tells you something about its ability to continue appealing to a large fan base.  Each song on this album is worth multiple listens, which is why we urge everyone to use the link we provide you here so you can visit the world’s greatest online marketplace.  Once there at Amazon.com, you can get it in the format, the condition, and the price that works best for you- you will be glad you did.

FEATURED ALBUM OF THE DAY:

The Byrds released a recently located live recording featuring the band at the famed Fillmore East Auditorium in New York City back in 1969.  The album, “Live at the Fillmore East, February 1969” (February 22, 2000) features the band in a stripped-down configuration delivering their hits to a rowdy crowd.  We hope you will use the link we provide you here so you can zip on over the world’s greatest online marketplace, Amazon.com.  Once there, you can get it in the format, the condition, and the price that works best for you- you will be glad you did.

We continue offering CDs by the great New York band, the Velvet Underground. The band’s eleventh album, “The Best of the Velvet Underground featuring the Words and Music of Lou Reed” came out in 1989 and is yet another compilation CD featuring the best music the band ever recorded all in one place for both the new fan as well as for the veteran.   We love this album because it contains the crème de la crème of this hardcore rock band from New York City. Once one opens the door with this record, the others seem to beckon the novice and the veteran to buy one-by-one so they become committed lifelong fans.  To own it, take the link posted above, go to Amazon.com, and buy it NOW in the format, the condition, and the price that is right for you, your checkbook, and your ears—you can thank us later.
