Dictatorships take control of education and health care as in doing so, they control both the family from cradle to grave and its young through indoctrinating and instilling them with the party line

Just the Facts: dictatorships take control of education and health care as in doing so, they control both the family from cradle to grave and its young through indoctrinating and instilling them with the party line

Likewise, education becomes a tool of domination as young children grow up knowing only what government wants them to know, which separates their parents from them and transferring said control to the ‘benevolent’ government. In effect, children become agents of government as well as monitors of their parents, which never ends well.

WINTER SESSION 2019

BLOG POST #242 AT THE AICP-END

616 DAYS UNTIL ELECTION DAY 2020

Education is better if left in local control and not in federal hands

Honolulu, HI, 02-27-2019 Wednesday:  Yesterday, at the main blog, I shared my thoughts on how the United States- having lost control of the educational system- is now in danger thanks to the instillation of propaganda into our school-aged kids.  While it is important to provide an all-around education into our K-through 12 kids, we cannot stuff nonsense, half-baked science, and lolo beliefs into them without having them swallow them lock, stock, and barrel.

One of the unsettling things that concern me and my family is that in dictator-ruled societies, whether right or left, education like health care are among the first things coopted by government because it gives government total control of the population.

Controlling health care from birth to death makes it nigh impossible for any citizen to speak freely or independently of the government line as their health can easily become a weapon employed against them by withholding it from them or from members of their family.

Likewise, education becomes a tool of domination as young children grow up knowing only what government wants them to know, which separates their parents from them and transferring said control to the ‘benevolent’ government.  In effect, children become agents of government as well as monitors of their parents, which never ends well.

Let us deviate from the depressing topic we are on and look at the five beautiful Beverly Carrick original oil paintings we have on hand for today, #’s 186 through 190.  Here we go:

BEVERLY CARRICK ORIGINAL ARTWORKS FOR FEBRUARY 27, 2019:

#0186 36” x 48” “The Sundown Mining Camp quits Business”

#0187 40” x 60” “Sunset and a Snowy Peak”

#0188 24” x 36” “Cloud Shadows”

#0189 8” x 10” “Wine Country”

#0190 8” x 10” “La Petit Sunset”

Here in Hawaii, we like to think that our school system is better than the one found on the mainland because it is indeed a familial endeavor here in the islands.  Yes, it does take a village to raise kids with respect, morality, and a drive to succeed and that is precisely what we do.

However, we also have governmental intrusion into how we do things here, which is never good, as they pervert the system rather than improve it.  While we can accept LGBTQ lifestyles and celebrate them, we do not need government separating parents from kids using a crowbar to do it.

I guess what I am saying is that education would be so much better if it returned to local control instead of having a distant Department of Education in Washington, DC, telling us how to educate and raise our young.  I would hope that if Congresswoman Tulsi Gabbard is fortunate enough to win the White House, she will remember her roots and not those of her new home.

Join me at the main blog.  Lots of love, aloha, see you over there.

Up-and-coming Bakersfield, California, street artist, Simone, created this cartoonish caricature of me so we can keep our identities on the down low due to increasing threats, Web intrusions and threats, and so we do not lose our professional businesses because of our politics here at the AICP-END Blogs.

That said, I began my career in the early 1970’s when I apprenticed to cook under one of the masters on the Big Island where I was born.  I moved to Oahu in the early 1980’s after having worked in both Kona and Hilo, HI, and have been there for most of my professional career.

Moreover, I have also worked on Maui for a few years (1995-1998) and have been on Kauai (2001-2003) before returning to Honolulu.  My goal is to prepare the next generation of chefs for the future and to help the underprivileged in their struggle to attain careers in the foodservice industry.

Just the Facts: what is it about the word, FREE? Somebody has to pay the price tag so me, as a Democrat, am somewhat leery of all Democrats seeking the 2020 nomination who want to give away the farm- watch out!

While the “Medicare for ALL” chant sounds nice, I find myself forced to say, “was not Obamacare the end-all, be-all? Was not Obamacare where we wanted to be? Yes, a public option would have been nice- for those unable or incapable of finding health insurance any other way- but to provide FREE health care to everyone (including illegal aliens), well, as a businessowner, let me say this: taxes are high enough already and my hubby and I will always vote our pocketbooks.

BLOG POST #3,041 AT THE AICP-END

616 DAYS UNTIL ELECTION DAY 2020

The Russian people thought the Revolution would make their lives better; boy, were they surprised when Stalin succeeded Lenin

Honolulu, HI, 02-27-2019 Wednesday:  The buzzword for every Democrat seeking the nomination for the presidency is the same: FREE, FREE, and even more FREE- what’s up with that?  We live in a time- when, like it or not- the economy is booming and there is only one person to thank for it.  Dare I say it, President Donald Trump?  Look, I am as appalled of the man’s behavior as most other thinking, sentient people are; however, there is no denying that he is doing marvelous things with the economy, jobs are abundant, wages and benefits are climbing, and people are becoming happier with life.

The only way to provide FREE this and FREE that is to have someone with deep pockets forking out the necessary cash so that government can redistribute it to those it deems who need it, which is everyone on the bottom end of the spectrum, the lower fifty-percent that pays little to no taxes.

However, people with money eventually will move that money to more favorable environs where returns are high, taxes low, and greedy, covetous liberals are not seeking to take it away from them (while blaming them for every ill in the world), which then leaves the upper-middle and middle classes holding the bag.  Lalo and I have no intention whatsoever of being left, ‘holding the bag’ nor will we force it on our kids and their kids.  Nope, no way.

Where my fellow Democrats are getting these crazy ideas from is beyond us.  I can tell you that if you read the book every chef-blogger here at the American Institute of Culinary Politics-Elemental News of the Day has read in order to understand how and whom to nominate for the Second Annual Lavrentiy Beria Award (coming in December and January 2020), one finds some shocking revelations.

“Stalin and His Hangmen: The Tyrant and Those Who Killed for Him” by Donald Rayfield is an eye-opener of a book.  For one thing, as the Stalinists cemented power, they allowed abortion and divorce on demand for women while looking the other way on homosexuality and immorality.

Once Josef Stalin attained the level of power that made him unstoppable and had almost everyone who enabled him to achieve it tried, imprisoned, and/or shot, all of these things went sailing out the window.  Laws were passed to punish pederasts, women could no longer demand a divorce and receive one and abortion, well, the Soviet Union required willing participants and what better servants than orphans and the youngest of the young who were not yet indoctrinated.

Reading the book gave me an epiphany.  For one thing, NOTHING is FREE, everything comes at a cost.  When dictators work on consolidating power, they are a bit more open and amenable to many things.  However, when power is complete and resides in the hands of one supreme HUMAN being, then nothing is available to the people that once was.

Even Lenin- when he was alive and in control- recognized that the public mood was sour on the Revolution because they were being asked to give, give, and still give some more and there was little to nothing in return other than hardship, repression, and misery.

Lenin, to prevent being overthrown by the masses, backed away from some of the harsher economic goals and allowed greater amounts of consumer goods to be available to the general public.  People were happy, there was abundance in the stores more than ever and people were able to buy most ever what they wanted.

However, Stalin, Lenin’s Number Two saw this as weakness but did not challenge his ‘boss.’  Unfortunately for the Russian people, when Lenin suffered a debilitating stroke and was unable to speak or write, Stalin became his fill in and yanked away all of the liberalism the Soviet savior had given the people.

It took Stalin a good decade or so to consolidate power and the people that enabled him in accomplishing this vile and bloody task, one by one, found themselves on the other end of the stick.

They went from being favored and the ones doing the persecution of the Revolution’s ‘enemies’ to ones receiving punishment as they were labeled ‘foreign spies and saboteurs,’ ‘counter-revolutionaries,’ and until Leon Trotsky was assassinated in Mexico, ‘Trotskyists,’ the worst thing anyone in the USSR could be called.

Leaping to another point, as you know (or should know), I am a liberal Democrat but my family and I also are members of the Church of Latter Day Saints here in Hawaii.  While I have held my nose at those who seek abortions, I now can no longer do so and would like to point out that if we end up with some leftist dictator one day like Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez, someone at the low end of the IQ spectrum, we may find ourselves in a Stalinist-like country.

While I do not believe AOC is a bad person, lack of life experience and a belief in herself that goes way beyond what is normal could lead her down a dark and bad path.  To the women who demand abortion at all stages- including when the newborn lies kicking and screaming on the delivery table- those rights along with LGBTQ ones and feminism and everything else will fly out the window.  It is the inevitable way of things.

Perhaps, we Democrats should and could reconsider who we are electing and why they no longer look like Democrats of old.  If we screw up in picking the RIGHT person to lead the country, we might find ourselves living in an alternative universe, one from which, we will want to flee but will be unable to do so.

Please, join me over at the secondary blog and I will see you all back here tomorrow.  Thanks and aloha.  Love you all.  God bless the country and God bless all of you and the souls of the aborted- they surely need it.

The problem is, I fear MY party is not going to awaken to the fact that we have created this Frankenstein monster. Instead of urging a truce with the Republicans and then doing something to eradicate the insanity flowing throughout the body of the educational system, the two parties instead allow it to continue. This is dangerous for EVERYONE as one day- as some of my colleagues have pointed out repeatedly- these youngsters will be caring for us.

WINTER SESSION 2019

BLOG POST #3,040 AT THE AICP-END

617 DAYS UNTIL ELECTION DAY 2020

We got an earful watching terror-stricken kids demanding Senator Dianne Feinstein vote YES on the Green New Deal

Honolulu, HI, 02-26-2019 Tuesday:  We have a real problem in this country and it is becoming clear to many that the educational system is deeply flawed, not because it is second-rate but because the level of indoctrination among the younger generations is toxic.  We saw the little kids invade the offices of California senior Senator Dianne Feinstein, urging her to vote YES on the Green New Deal and then disagreeing with everything she says to rebut the children’s arguments.  These kids, 12-year-olds, some older and some younger, all badgering the esteemed politician because they thoroughly believe what their teachers and indoctrinators have told them.  I am frightened.

I believe we must work hard at preventing our planet from becoming a blazing cinder ball in the next century or two, which means we must begin cleansing the oceans of plastics, stopping the thawing of the Arctic permafrost, purifying the air, and doing the same for the water.  However, to scare children as to what awaits them if something is not done within the next 12 years is morally wrong and must stop.

While I believe the United States must set the example, at the same time, we cannot cripple our country while China, India, Russia, and the Third World continue going about business as usual.  Not only would it be the ruination of our economy, it would also open us to hostile attack at all levels, something I seriously doubt we could prevent now.

Far too many nations despise us and to reduce our standard of living by reducing our factory and manufacturing output, by going directly to wind and solar power at the expense of cheaper sources of electricity such as coal, oil, natural gas, and even nuclear, would be to make us as vulnerable as possible to hostile external attack.  We cannot do this unless the rest of the world is going to join us which is why the Paris Climate Accord was so and still is, important.

Unfortunately, there is far too much ignorance in this area of scholarship.  Take for instance a TV show Lalo and I watched over the past weekend.  I believe it was on Nat-Geo and was about the scientific attempt at one day recreating the wooly mammoth population and returning the Arctic back to what it once was when megafauna roamed the landscape of the Ice Age.

One of the scientists in the show wants to bring back the Ice Age beasts- namely the mammoths- as he believes that if the tundra resembles what it did between 60,000-to-12,000 years ago, the permafrost won’t melt and the methane gas frozen within it won’t escape into the atmosphere, which would have dire consequences for the entire planet.

While the program was fascinating as all such shows are, if science is somehow able to do a “Jurassic-style Park” recreation of ancient mammals, if they only replicate the mammoths, what predators will control their populations?

The massive beasts will breed out of control- if science can make cloned beasts fertile, which up until now, I believe they cannot- and the methane released by them will be as damaging- if not worse- as the so-called ‘cow farts’ that have climate scientists so motivated at stopping now to preserve the environment.

I would like to see serious climate concerns separated from the whacky things others attempt to insinuate into the discussion such as the recreation of wooly mammoths as they are not helpful to the argument just as we should dissuade younger members of society from believing their only hope at future survival is the colonization of a dead satellite- the moon- or a dead planet- Mars.

While I have nothing against the recreation of extinct beasts, do the movies “Jurassic Park” not tell us of the things that can and happen when men and women play god?  Likewise, journeying to Mars and beyond are noble endeavors but we cannot for the life of us make younger generations believe that space travel and colonization are the only things that are going to save our planet and help them.

I fear that we are on an alternative path, too, one in which, life no longer has the meaning it once did.  New York state has a new law that allows abortion at all stages while the racist governor of Virginia believes children can be aborted once they exit the wombs of their mothers and exist in our world.

Many among the climate scientists believe that the planet would be so much better off if two-thirds of the world population died off.  In order to get there, we must first devalue the lives of the unborn and the newly born.  From there, we can murder the disabled, the mentally ill, and the elderly- and it won’t stop there.

Friends, the first step at saving our country and then saving the world is regaining control of the educational system.  We cannot instill terror into young children as one day, those children will be terrorizing us in their mistaken belief that harsh measures must occur to save the Earth.

What’s more, if we fail to take this problem seriously and do something about it, when we are in our eighties and nineties- if we are lucky to get that far- we may very well regret that we did not do what we had to do and that is to re-instill common sense to our kids.

Thanks for joining me today; aloha and lots and lots of love.

Just the Facts: although the Green New Deal is exciting, bold, and new, implementing it here in Hawaii within ten years would cripple our state

Now, unlike many of my colleagues who openly deride her for being a simpleton and who have bestowed the derogatory name of the “Baby Evita” on her, I will refrain from that type of language as calling other people names- even if they are genuinely numskulled or lean towards communism- is not correct in my book. I want to elevate our conversations to a higher plane and will do my best to keep this promise to you: I will be as polite as I possibly can whenever discussing our fellow human beings.

WINTER SESSION 2019

BLOG POST #3,039 AT THE AICP-END

618 DAYS UNTIL ELECTION DAY 2020

While the Green New Deal might sound ‘ono,’ it would prove to be a big flipping mess…

Honolulu, HI, 02-25-2019 Monday:  Last September, I predicted that the Democrats were going to lose and lose big in the 2018 Mid-Term Elections as I was reading the same sources as my colleagues were, came to many of the same conclusions, and thought that once we went down in defeat, that perhaps solid, older, more patriotic Democrats would be able to wrest the party away from the kookier elements making us the laughing stock of the world.

I was wrong.  The Democrats did quite well, winning back the House of Representatives, which has led to divided government and renewed vigor in going after President Donald J. Trump and some of the crooked lolos he has around him.  At the same time, however, some of the people who won seats blow my mind.

I find myself holding my head in my hands and imbibing a bit more wine at the end of a long night whenever I see that pop-eyed little girl from New York, the one with the squeaky, high-pitched little girl voice, Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez.

Some of the things this new generation of young firebrand leftist Democrats suggest sound somewhat goofy to me just as I am sure they do you.  I find it sad that in this time of better opportunities at attaining higher educations that so many have attended university and come away from them with little to nothing to show for their time there other than big student loan debt.

The BIG STORY of the day (other than Jussie Smollett and his failed attempt at causing racial rancor via creating a phony hate crime) is this incredibly juvenile “Green New Deal.”

I applaud my mainland colleagues, Chefs Brian and Charles, for devoting so much of their valuable time to printing both the Green Party’s version and the AOC version that she proudly put forth in the House and then had to yank down, scurry out with her tail between her legs, and go to ground, so bad was her plan.

My family and I own and operate a profitable business in the nation’s 50th state as well as are lifelong residents.  We put our blood, sweat, and tears, as well as every nickel we make, back into the business so we can scrape a living together for Lalo and me as well as have something to pass on to our kids.

I would think that AOC, having tended bar and most likely worked in professional food service would be aware enough to understand that the restaurant business is not one in which, owners and workers make Menehune-like temples and fish ponds of gold.  We barely get by because we can charge only so much over the costs of food, labor, energy, and various sundries that allow us to give the customers high-quality for low value.

Restaurants open and close with a frequency that is disturbing to see.  Many people believe that if they can open a restaurant, they can make it successful, reap in the bucks, and maybe if lucky, build a franchise that will exist in all 50 states.  It is simply not like that and I would have hoped that Congresswoman Ocasio-Cortez would have understood this before dreaming up a plan that will cripple my industry and many others like it.

There are ways to work to save the environment and Hawaii has blazed the trail in this regard.  We exist in a fragile ecosystem, one in which, the east side of the principal islands are covered in rainforests while the western sides are covered in desert.  While I am not saying that the western ends are like Death Valley, what I am saying is that vegetation is not as thick and abundant as it is on the eastern sides nor the rainfall.

If you visit neighboring Maui and climb up Haleakala, one sees a variety of vegetation that transforms from tropical to what one might find in the Sierras or in any other mainland mountain range.  Pines, eucalyptus, all manner of trees.  We work hard at maintaining our land, sea, and air environments and have done a spectacular job of it.

Unfortunately, to force a plan like the Green New Deal on the people of Hawaii would raise the cost of everything which already is higher than any place else on the mainland with the exception of Alaska.  The cost of transport, the cost of storage, all of this makes food very expensive.

Energy prices, too, are exorbitant because we must bring our fuel from the mainland.  Most of our electricity comes from oil, brought over on massive tankers to our power plants and, dare I say it, we also burn coal (although we are phasing those plants out).  This is not to say that we do not have wind, solar, geothermal, and biomass (algae) as we do but as long as those sources produce miniscule amounts and cost more, oil is going to continue to be our major source of energy.

I lament the fact that Congresswoman Ocasio-Cortez’s mind is not where her heart is.  There is no re-transforming the state’s power generation exclusively to wind, solar, geothermal, and biomass in twenty years, much less ten.  We are working on it via a Clean Power Initiative that we hope is going to enable us to become more self-sufficient but there is no way my state will ever come close to what the Green New Deal proposes.

Alas, if you want to know why I hold my head in my hands and drink more Maui wine, it does not take a genius to see that good-hearted, younger Democrats, people who have come up being taught fables and fairy tales in public schools and universities, as well have taken overdoses of Captain Planet and other claptrap ‘environmental defenders,’ or have bought Al Gore’s ‘nonfiction movie’ with abandon have no clue as to what the REAL world is like.  These people will destroy our party and cost us big.

Thanks for joining me today.  Please visit me over at the WordPress site as we are striving to create a ‘home away from home’ over there in case Google shuts down Blogger just as they are Google Plus.  Sadly, we are going to abandon the social media side of what we do here because what is the point?  Create a fabulous product and then Google drives a dagger in one’s back.  WHY?

I will see you back here tomorrow.  Puu o ke aloha– lots of love to you.
