Don’t shoot the messenger: IF Hydroxychloroquine works and I or one of my family members is dying from COVID-19, I want to be able to do so sans politics

The anecdotal evidence over this drug’s value in conjunction with other medicines is extremely ono so if the only reason NOT to prescribe it or to try it is that ‘we don’t like Trump,’ I say, “Screw that. Allow us to make our own educated decisions and if the medicine works on us, science can use as test subjects so other brave doctors will prescribe it to THEIR deathly ill patients,”

SPRING SESSION 2020

BLOG POST #3,447 AT THE AICP-END

212 DAYS UNTIL ELECTION DAY 2020

Sometimes, you have to give credit where credit is due- no matter WHO the president is…

Kihei, HI 96753, 04-08-2020 Wednesday: Christians everywhere are becoming extremely concerned over how state and local governments are seeking to stifle religious services during Holy Week and beyond.  They are using the COVID-19 ‘crisis’ to force anti-Christian restrictions down our throats and I am telling my Democratic Party state and national leaders that IF you permit this outrageous behavior to continue without stopping it, you may force far more of us than you are willing to lose into the GOP’s camp.

We are intelligent enough to make our own choices when it comes to exercising our God-given Constitutional rights.  Anyone who wants to get between my family and me when it comes to attending church is going to face pushback the likes of which, you haven’t yet considered.

The fact that this marauding communist Chinese virus came to us from totalitarian state should tell everyone HOW and WHY it was created because the Chinese can afford to lose half-a-billion people and still have enough to carry on whereas the rest of the world can’t.

Once our government realizes that all it takes is a contagious virus that so far has killed far less than the annual flu to grab more and greater control, how soon will it be before we begin seeing a yearly virus that permits government to shut down our daily flow of life?  This is not good and it is beginning to frighten the heck out of me and Chono.  Enough is enough, already.

I began wavering on this when I heard the criticism the president was getting over his promotion of hydroxychloroquine[i] as a possible preventative as well as a potential cure.  Look, I get it, the guy is a blowhard but I think he is doing a better job combatting this virus than many are giving him credit for doing.

I mean, come on, folks, if you or me or one of my family members is facing death because of the coronavirus and the only choice is hydroxychloroquine, I say, “LET ME OR MY FAMILY MEMBER TRY IT- IT’S NONE OF YOUR BUSINESS.”

I have always chided President Trump and the GOP because I have been a lifelong Democrat, a solid one, as anyone who has ever read any of my posts knows.  However, this crisis is extremely different from other affairs in which the president has been involved and I am reevaluating things as we go, based on how well he is handling the Wuhan Virus Crisis.

I say, the time to set politics aside is here and now.  If I see one more putrid piece of pus like Jim Acosta or Chuck Todd or that real creepy looking guy who resembles the bald-headed court advisor on Game of Thrones, Brian, uh, what’s his face, lecturing me on what a dope Trump is, I am going to begin heaving into the nearest wastebasket.

If I see that little flake Don Lemon, or that unattractive loser Nicolle Wallace or any of these other babbling snowflakes whining and crying about the president pushing his own agenda when he says, “I’m not a doctor but hydroxychloroquine is promising,” why would I not want to try it if my husband or my kids or grandkids were sick and at risk of dying?

Geez Louise, folks, let’s use some common sense and not attack a potential cure just because we don’t like the man offering his PERSONAL OPINION as to its potential value?

We must get past these politics.  Media moguls declare a truce with the president and let’s get past this calamity.  I don’t want to get sick and die and I don’t want you and/or yours getting sick and dying either.

Let’s work together for once,  I will blaze the way forward.

Aloha.  Lots of love.

I must say I am amazed that the AICP-END Blog would send up-and-coming Bakersfield, California, street artist, the amazing Simone to Maui to do some photographic portraits of me.  We have moved in this direction since politics have turned millions of people against one another and it is important for us as employers and as private people with families to protect, that we begin covering our actual identities from those seeking to cause us problems.  I must say, Simone has done an outstanding job and this is a caricature of me that meets with my approval.  My husband and I live and own a restaurant in Kihei, Hawaii, and have also worked in institutional cooking at Maui’s premier hospital up in Wailuku.

Question: IF COVID-19 is running amok south of the Equator, why is everyone hopeful that by the time the weather warms north of it, that this insidious contagion will go dormant?

Now, I am not saying I will vote for President Trump (as that is not something I would ever admit, even to my husband), because the family might be wanting to send me to the lolo bin for observation. However, if the economy recovers and our portfolios return to their previous highs if not higher, it’s going to be extremely difficult NOT to cast a vote for this guy.

SPRING SESSION 2020

BLOG POST #3,446 AT THE AICP-END

213 DAYS UNTIL ELECTION DAY 2020

We hope COVID-19 disappears and soon…

Kihei, HI 96753, 04-07-2020 Tuesday:  Yesterday, I shocked members of the readership when I said that I thought President Donald J. Trump was doing a superb job with his handling of the COVID-19 crisis, the one currently sweeping the world.  This contagious disease is in, I believe, 182 countries (and most likely in most of the rest if they were honest), which means it is thriving on both sides of the Equator.  People north of that dividing line are prayerful that by the time summer comes, the coronavirus will go dormant.

However, if it is spreading through the Southern Hemisphere, that means it’s the end of summertime down there so if COVID-19 is infecting people to the south of us, in their fall season, how is the virus going to slow down come summertime up here?  It seems to be an all-weather contagion hammering almost every country and region of the world.

IF this is a year-round virus, the economic damage that is going to befall the United States and the rest of the world is going to be profound.  If it takes 12-18 months to develop a feasible vaccine with which to fight this nasty piece of work, that could ruin the nation’s economic gains that have boosted everyone’s standard of living to their highest point in I cannot remember how long.

Say what you will about Donald Trump, I cannot bash his handling of the economy.  More people in Hawaii and around the nation have been working better jobs, full-time jobs, and even able to find second jobs, you know, moonlighting, so they can make more disposable income and pay off older debt like student loans.  Money has been plentiful, housing costs have gone down (well, maybe not here), and prospects have improved for everyone.

Now, I am not saying I will vote for President Trump (as that is not something I would ever admit), even to my husband, because the family might be wanting to send me to the lolo bin for observation.  However, if the economy recovers and our portfolios return to their previous highs if not higher, it’s going to be extremely difficult NOT to cast a vote for this guy.

When it comes to China, he’s the only one who’s held their squirming feet to the blazing fire.  For far too long, we just accepted the fact that Beijing was going to eat our lunch, every single day, as though we were new seventh graders in a rough junior high school.

President Obama never did (and you all know I love the guy), but he told us this ‘was as good as it was going to get and that he would be the one to manage the nation’s decline.’  No one wanted to hear that although the economy had been in the toilet for far too long so it seemed reasonable and sensible at the time.

The economic gains we have enjoyed the past three years are not something we enjoyed since the 1980s and 1990s.  For far too long, wages and prices froze, people received less benefits, it was what it was and the evil in this is that it happens slowly, bit by bit, that everyone becomes anesthetized to it.  It’s insidious, it’s slow, and although employees want to know why their paychecks are not as good as they were the year or the decade prior, it’s dulls the senses and so people become disenchanted with their jobs.

As a long-time employer with my hubby, we were affected by the same slow down in the economy.  Although the costs of everything went up, we had difficulty in raising menu prices as if we did, our customers would go somewhere else.   We struggled along like everyone else here in Hawaii.

I hope we get a handle on COVID-19 and do it soon so we can get back to watching the economy blast off once more.  We want our stock portfolios to take off just as we want our retirement benefits package take off for our employees.  We want everyone to do well and if we have to hold our noses and make a difficult decision when it comes to whom we vote for, we must do what is good for our pocketbooks and for those of our workers and customers.

Friends, I know we were going to talk more about China but there is plenty of time for us to do it over the next five days.  Thinking about what they have done gives me chicken skin.  I like what my friend Goldie said about returning to a Two-China Policy.  We should never have thrown Taiwan under the pineapple train on behalf of communists in Beijing.

Let us embrace one another in the spirit of Aloha.  Love you all.

SPRING SESSION 2020

BLOG POST #3,445 AT THE AICP-END

214 DAYS UNTIL ELECTION DAY 2020

Compared to some states, Hawaii is doing extremely ono…

Kihei, HI 96753, 04-05-2020 Monday:  Aloha, friends, from the beautiful town of Kihei.  Living here is one of the absolute best gifts life could ever offer and when the Novel Coronavirus, aka the COVID-19 pandemic, abates, I hope our guests from around the globe will continue coming to visit us.  We miss them as much as they miss us.

Normally, you all know I love talking stink about President Trump because he presents so many easy targets, it’s difficult to resist hammering him one after another.  I must say, however- and this is going to surprise many of you- I think the man is doing a bang-up job on fighting this virus from Wuhan, China.

If you recall, the last time I was here, well, we were still at Google Blogger until that little pansy, Sundar Pichai, decided to close us down, I wrote some posts very unfriendly to China at the time.

I mean, why would anyone think that China is a fine nation, a good place to visit, that it plays by the rules, cares about international law and the like or that we should emulate them?  No, they are a totalitarian society that seeks to do harsh things to us so I think that in this regard, President Trump is doing one heck of a job.  Gonna irritate readers, I know.

Currently, things are not so bad here although had we not mandated a two-week quarantine for outsiders coming in, it could be worse.  At the time I began keying away at this post, we have only had three unfortunate deaths from 319 cases (as of Friday) spread between the various counties.  Compared to most, that’s pretty doggone good.

One of the things about living in Hawaii is that we are an extremely healthy people, well, not counting many of the Native men who suffer obesity, diabetes, alcoholism, and drug use, but most everyone else is as we pursue wholesome lifestyles.

There is so much to do.  We windsurf, board surf, swim, hike, climb, bike, do many things which is why most of us are extremely vigorous specimens- even into our senior years.  Add to that the fact that the trades tend to blow much of the gunk out to sea and most of the annual influenzas, colds, and other congestive yuck head out to sea before they can infect us.

We are extremely fortunate to have Kaiser Permanente as one of our top medical providers as well as loads of U.S. military doctors and nurses scattered among numerous bases.  We have county health facilities that are phenomenal and our hospitals are glorious.  Hospitals on Maui are excellent, especially the one up in Wailuku and the other high up in Kula.  Oh, can’t forget Lahaina’s either.  All very ono.

Here, too, people tend to look after one another.  We do whatever we must to protect our health so we do not infect others.  Hawaii government at all levels is responsive to its citizens so if anything occurs that concerns our officials, they can move on it as quickly as possible.

We look forward to a time when no one has to walk around in fear.  If everyone does his or her part, we can make our state the travel destination its always been, a place of love, of aloha, of spirituality, and of joy.  I would hope everyone on the mainland would do the same so we can be rid of this challenging time in the history of our state, the country, and the world.

I want to thank our state’s leaders, starting with Governor David Ige and Lt. Governor Josh Green.  Our senators- Mazie Hirono and Brian Schatz have done right by us as has the rest of our state and local legislators.  Thank you, aloha, we love you.  We will fight this together.

Tomorrow, we can begin talking about China.  China has much to answer for so we will let them have it- with both barrels.

Aloha, my friends.  As the only remaining hardcore Democrat at the NEW AICPENDBLOG.COM, let’s hope I do not begin going through some ‘changes’ which could alienate my fans.  That would not be good- for the few liberals who still read our blog.

Is there anyone so naïve today NOT to believe that the Wuhan Virus is anything other than a Chinese power play designed to make them the sole superpower? If so, I have a bridge to sell you

We have politicians right now who are seeking to dominate the citizenry of this country by stuffing all manner of oppressive crap into a COVID-19 ‘relief bill’ that will allow Democrat bigwigs the right to control elections even more, throw out Voter ID laws and initiatives in states that actually care about who votes in their elections, as well as to jam phony environmental laws down our throats with the express purpose of oppressing us even further than the SOBS already do now.

SPRING SESSION 2020

BLOG POST #3,442 AT THE AICP-END

217 DAYS UNTIL ELECTION DAY 2020

If I lived in Washington state and said what I am saying today, I most likely would be in jail and without bail.  Yikes!

Bakersfield, CA 93304, 04-03-2020 Friday:  Every day, it seems as though the news continues getting worse and it’s all thanks to our good friends, the communist Chinese.  You know, Henry and I used to enjoy watching “The Americans” on FX, a show about deep cover (aka ‘illegal’) Soviet KGB agents posing as travel agents in Virginia, just across the Potomac River from Washington, D.C.  It was a great show and it was definitely one for the ages and if you haven’t yet seen it, I highly recommend that you do.

Well, let me say this: the Chinese make the Soviets look like pikers.  Like the Nazis of the 1930s who funded ‘bicycling clubs’  that traveled throughout Western Europe and the British Isles  to gather vital intelligence for the Führer back home, so, too, do the Chinese, just in other ways.

As the ardent young Nazis pedaled throughout their host nations, they collected intel on the whereabouts of military bases, power plants, radio stations, shipping ports, transit hubs, and anything else they could gather from their host nations.  When they returned home, these young people eagerly informed their debriefers on everything they saw, heard, or did.

Looking back, everyone understands that permitting smiling Hitler Youth kids to bike and hike through countries the Nazis viewed as potential adversaries in any future conflict was not a wise idea nor was allowing the Soviets to insert deep cover agents into American society during the 1950s through the late 1980s.  Yet, non-communist nations generally scoff at the depths their enemies are willing to stoop and so become extremely lax.

The Chinese gather intel at every level of our society, flooding every college and university with gobs of FREE money for ‘Chinese studies’ and for research laboratories into every vital or important aspect of American life.

The modern-day Mandarins throw their wealth about like drunken sailors on leave in iniquitous Asiatic ports.  Much of the money they toss about is money they have stripped from the United States through the unfair trade imbalance that President Trump did everything to reverse and against much pushback, even from fellow Americans.

I think one of our major political parties (and parts of the other) is in the tank for Beijing and for a variety of reasons.  For some, it’s an endless supply of dark money, (something many of the hypocrites rail about constantly) that flows into campaign coffers and will remain in the control of whatever politicians Beijing has bought for the rest of their obsequious lives.

For others, it’s cash they can move about like slush funds, setting up phony charities and global do-gooder organizations- like the Clintons- where the bulk of the money continues finding its way into the deep pockets of the charities’ founders and board members alike.  This ain’t right.

Other politicians salivate over the unchecked power that working hand-in-hand with the communist politburo in China gives them, selling one’s soul to Xi Jinping is akin to selling one’s soul to the Devil, the seller will end up in the same torrid place eventually.

We will pick up tomorrow where we left off today.  This is an important topic and one can see from our sudden drop in numbers that the hand of Xi Jinping can trigger much havoc, even for a small blog such as ours.  It will be fascinating to see if they can slam the door shut on this blog like they ordered their kowtowing lackey, Sundar Pichai, to do at Google.

Join me tomorrow- if I haven’t been swept up in a Word Police crackdown and/or been ‘disappeared.’  Yikes.

Due to the increasing number of threats and intrusions into our personal lives, we who blog here at the American Institute of Culinary Politics-Elemental News of the Day have engaged the services of local up-and-coming Bakersfield street artist, Simone, to do renderings of us as he sees fit.  I must say that he did an ‘okay job,’ it is what it is and I am fine with that.  Anyhow, I have spent my life working in professional food service and find it an immense joy to be able to come here 1-2 times a year and to share my political opinions and observations with me.  Thank you for joining me, we welcome everyone and invite them to bring their friends, family members, and coworkers/employees with them.

  57. 2020: As the day sputters to an end, cases of the Wuhan Virus continue going up although communist China continues braying like sheep  that cases there are going down and life is returning to normal.  Uh, okay, can’t trust communists folks.  As we wrap up for the day, total confirmed cases around the planet are at 858,785 what with a total of 42,139 confirmed deaths worldwide.  In the United States, there are 203,608 confirmed cases of the Kung Flu with 4,476 confirmed deaths.  Again, thank you, China.  Today, the governor of Virginia, Ralph Northam, says life will be shut down until sometime in June, returning to normal a day AFTER the GOP primary takes place.  What a scumbag.

On August 15, 2006, Roxy Music released a great live album—“Ladytron”–recorded around the time the band released their “Manifesto” album and went on tour to promote it. “Manifesto” marked a return for the band who had taken a brief hiatus of sorts and the songs on the album were among their best. To hear them knock them out live is a joy as is the fact that there are some old favorites on the album, too. We hope that you will go to Amazon.com where you can get it in the format, the condition, and the price that works best for you—you will love this spectacular live set.
