22. TODAY IN HISTORY—SATURDAY, JANUARY 22, 2022

2005 Saturday: Following the filing against him of war crimes charges resulting from U.S. actions in the Iraq War, U.S. Secretary of Defense Donald Rumsfeld cancels an appearance in Germany, the country where the charges were filed. This also follows a report from the Washington Post regarding a clandestine organization within the Pentagon that allows the U.S. military to skirt cooperation with the Central Intelligence Agency, and which is under direct control of Secretary Rumsfeld. Known as the Strategic Support Branch, it allows military intelligence to do whatever they have to do to ‘question’ jihadist suspects. In some circles, we call this “TORTURE.”

  62. 2013 Tuesday: Chinese researchers discover an ancient human fossil in a cave near Beijing; the 40,000-year-old leg bone shows that it was related to present-day Asians and Native Americans, thus the Chi-Coms would have us believe that they have a claim to North America.  Let’s nuke these SOBs.

  67. 2018 Monday: The United States- to the shock of millions of Palestinian-lovers- announces that the U.S. will recognize Jerusalem as the eternal capital of Israel.  Anti-Semites go nuts across the U.S. and around the world.   In a speech before the Knesset, Vice President Mike Pence says it will become official in early 2019 with the opening of a brand-new embassy.  Meanwhile, the U.S. Senate strikes a deal to keep the government open until February 8 by which time they hope to have a funding bill passed.

  71. 2021 Friday A: After massive outrage occurred over Tweeted videos of U.S. National Guard members sleeping in a parking garage in Washington, D.C., surfaced- in 32-degree and colder weather- First Lady Jill Biden went down there for photo ops, kissed, and made nice, and allowed them to return to the Capitol Building.  They were sent to the parking garage once their photo purpose was over- making it appear that the Capitol and the Inauguration was imminent threat of attack by Trump supporters because Democrats have NO LOVE for the American military.  Hence why Governors Greg Abbott, Texas, and Ron DeSantis, Florida, are calling their guard members home or vowing never to send them again.  Excellent.
  72. 2021 Friday B: Pressure is mounting on ‘President’ Joe Biden NOT to hire BIG TECH hacks to flesh out his White House communications department.  Meanwhile, Google is threatening to strip its search engine from Australia (there’s Mozilla, Opera, Bing, Safari, among others) because of a bill there that will charge Google for its news feeds.  BIG TECH trying to crush people and countries again yet loves the Chi-Coms.  Wow.  Elsewhere, Bloomberg News says it might be ‘difficult’ to ban Fox News Channel and Newsmax.  Where there’s a will, there’s a way, you frigging fascists.  Meanwhile, Google is shuttering Loon, an alternative to cellphone towers using balloons.
  73. 2021 Friday C: “Hammering Hank” Aaron baseball great received the COVID-19 vaccine as a way of encouraging fellow black folks to get the vaccine back on January 5.  On January 22, he is dead at age 86.  Chef Bea O’Malley of the AICPENDBLOG.COM says there is NO way her or her family is getting the vaccine because when white liberals encourage black folks to do something, it never works out good for them.  Speaking of the Chi-Vi, Dr. Tony Fauci, a guy who’s all over the ballpark and not in a clever way says, he thinks we are plateauing out now what with ‘Usurper Joe’ Biden as our president.  Simultaneously, Great Britain says their variant of the Chi-Vi is not only more contagious but also more deadly.  Wow.
  74. 2021 Friday D: ‘President’ Joe Biden is pushing stopgap measures while he tries to get Congress onboard with his $1.9 trillion COVID-19 relief plan, a plan that will be funded with Chi-Com cash. In a sign of an ‘improving Biden economy,’ the ‘46th president’ is pushing for more food stamps like his former boss, Barack Obama, did back during the eight years of Obama-Biden.  Things were so good back then; food stamp usage was at an all-time historic high.  Guess we are returning to the GOOD OLD DAYS.  Likewise, he is pushing his $15 minimum wage increase for all federal workers which also is going to harm the economy.  In other interesting economic/labor news, Amazon.com is demanding IN-PERSON voting in the union vote in COVID-19-afflicted Alabama.  Amazon wants ‘in-person voting’ but in the 2020 Presidential Election, we couldn’t have ‘in person’ voting?  Tells you all you need to know: “86 46.”
  75. 2021 Friday E: House Speaker Nancy “Mumbles” Pelosi, Senate Majority Leader “Cryin’ Chuck” Schumer, and Senate Minority Leader “Cocaine Mitch” McConnell plan to get the second impeachment trial of former President Donald J. Trump underway and soon.  However, constitutional scholars say you CANNOT impeach a former president.  I guess we shall see.  Former White House economic adviser Peter Navarro says you ‘forget unity’ if this bogus sham moves forward.   Speaking of impeachment, freshman Congresswoman Marjorie Taylor Green- the famed MTG- has put forth articles of impeachment for the ‘46th president’ over his close ties to the Chi-Coms who are celebrating the NEW ‘Biden administration’ and the departure of Donald J. Trump.  It tells you all you need to know.  Congressman Steve Scalise, R-LA, also says ‘President’ Joe Biden should immediately nix the bogus impeachment of the out-of-office 45th president.  We concur.
  76. 2021 Friday F: Upon orders from ‘President’ Joe Biden, the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers halts construction on the southern border wall.  There goes more interconnected jobs.   Senator Roger Marshall of Kansas says ‘President’ Joe Biden must reconsider stoppage of the Keystone XL Pipeline project.  He won’t.  Moving on, a unanimous vote puts Janet Yellen in as secretary of the U.S. Treasury while a nearly unanimous votes makes U.S. Army Gen. Lloyd Austin, Ret., as the new 28th secretary of Defense.  His predecessor, Acting U.S. Secretary of Defense David Norquist stepped down on this date.  He served from January 20 until today.
  77. 2021 Friday G: Twitter finally cancels the scumbag ayatollah of Iran for calling death and destruction down upon Donald Trump.  What took you so long?   Speaking of former President Trump, his banks move to cancel him and his banking accounts.  Wow.  This is America?  Meanwhile, the Kremlin welcomes the ‘Biden administration’s’ return to extend the Open Skies Treaty between the U.S. and Russia but would like to see the details.  Meanwhile, the Chi-Coms are importing ‘doctored oil’ from Venezuela so as to sneak it past inspectors seeking to clamp down on oil imports from the totalitarian hellhole.  Elsewhere, in other interesting news, the city of Chicago has already experienced 1,125 violent carjackings just this year.  Who the hell wants to visit the Windy City?
  78. 2021 Friday H: Here are the numbers for the COVID-19 global pandemic, the planet first: 97,973,544 confirmed cases, +717,789, 2,101,894, confirmed deaths, +17,882, and 54,008,728 confirmed recoveries (lower than reported last week), +419,939.  Next, here are the stats for the United States: 24,973,544 confirmed cases, up 477,526 from yesterday’s reporting, 415,653 confirmed deaths, UP 9,463, and 10,913,397 confirmed recoveries, UP 351,315.
  79. 2021 Friday I: Next, in the three states in which, the world-famous American Institute of Culinary Politics-the Elemental News of the Day employs chef-bloggers- California, Hawaii, and Washington- here are the stats, California first: 3,115,704 confirmed cases, 35,768 confirmed deaths, and NO MENTION of confirmed recoveries.  Next here are the numbers for Hawaii: 25,470 confirmed cases (this number has not changed in a week), 328 confirmed deaths, and NO MENTION of confirmed recoveries.  Finally, here are the stats for Washington: 300,420 confirmed cases, 4,131 confirmed deaths, and NO MENTION of confirmed recoveries.  Let us look at one other state: New Hampshire: currently, they have 60,294 confirmed cases, 962 confirmed deaths, and 53,128 confirmed recoveries.  Now that Mo has relocated to Israel, let’s look at the statistics there: 582,869 confirmed cases, 4,245 confirmed deaths, and 497,578 confirmed recoveries.
  80. 2021 Friday J: For a laugh, let’s look at the Chi-Coms’ numbers- they say they have 88,701 cases, +247, 4,635 confirmed deaths, and 82,468 confirmed recoveries, +36.  This, of course, is ALL BULLS**T.  When we had contacts in Hong Kong, they said times the numbers by 100, 150, or 200 times and you would get a somewhat closer picture.  Rat-eating scum.  Speaking of the Chi-Vi, Amazon.com is offering to help the ‘Biden administration’ with distribution of the now-questionable vaccines.  They could have aided the previous president but nope, no flipping way.
  81. 2021 Friday K:  Here are today’s Stock Market closes: DOW Jones Industrial Average: 30,996.98, DOWN 179.03 points (-0.57%).  Next, the NASDAQ: 13,543.06, UP 12.15 points (+0.09%).  Finally, here are the stats for the S&P 500: 3,841.47, DOWN 11.60 points (-0.30%).  The price of GOLD is $1,855.50 per troy oz., -0.70 (-0.40%) while the price of SILVER is $25.56 per troy ounce, +0.009 (+0.04%).  The price of PLATINUM is $1,109.10 per troy oz, -2.50 (-0.22%) while the price of COPPER is $3.62 per pound, -0.0065 (-0.18%).  The price of PALLADIUM is $2,365.20 per troy oz, -9.90 (-0.42%).  The price of Light Sweet Crude Oil is $51.98 per barrel, -0.29 (-0.55%).  Currently, one-dollar U.S. = 0.82 euros while one-dollar U.S. = 6.48 Chi-Com yuan.  One-dollar U.S. = 0.000030 Bitcoin.  Next, one U.S. greenback = 75.15 Russian rubles.   In other economic news, U.S. house sales of existing homes hits its highest mark back in 2006 at an 0.22-percent increase due to a slowdown in new home construction.  However, we fear that unless the government provides aid to landlords, the Chi-Coms will become the de facto landowner in the U.S. via using strawman companies to snap up all available real estate.  We cannot permit something as outrageous as this EVER to happen.
  82. 2021 Friday L: Stay tuned for tonight’s Mega-Millions draw what with a $999 million jackpot up for grabs.  Okay, here’s the numbers for Draw #1627 with NO BIG WINNER(S): 04, 26, 42, 50, 60, and Mega 24.  Out of 1,082,353 winning tickets, the highest winners were 26 people who had FOUR numbers plus the Mega for a prize of $11,036 apiece.  UPDATE- although the California Lottery website shows the Mega Millions pot is now $20 million, it still is not showing that someone actually WON the pot, estimated to be $1.1 billion.  News media is reporting a sole winner in Michigan so we will update when we possess the information.  FINAL UPDATE: one person won in Michigan won the big pot worth $1.01 billion.  Congratulations.
  83. 2022 Saturday: Stick around…

ALBUM OF THE DAY AT THE AICPENDBLOG.COM:

On September 16, 2007, Sandy Denny’s label released a concise package from the “Live at the BBC” Box Set that came out three days earlier, also called “Live at the BBC.”  This one contained the unreleased tracks augmented with some others so fans who had much of her earlier BBC recordings could latch onto these for a lesser price than the big box.  We are not saying that the box set is not worth it because it most assuredly is, but this is also a good addition because you get some tunes you had no clue ever existed.  We hope you will visit Amazon.com, Discogs, AllMusic, eBay, or any other place you shop for the absolute best in music and consider making it a part of your listening day- you will be glad you did.  Enjoy.
