DAYS UNTIL ELECTION DAY 2022: 617

60. TODAY IN HISTORY—MONDAY, MARCH 01, 2021 UPDATE C:

DAY FORTY-ONE OF THE JOE BIDEN ADMINISTRATION
St. David’s Day; Casimir Pulaski Day (Illinois); First Day of Women’s History Month
“Do Senate Republicans bear guilt over Merrick Garland not getting a hearing back in 2016 when Obama put him up to fill Antonin Scalia’s seat?”
Texas Brazos Electric Cooperative, Barack Obama, White House, 2008 Presidential Election, Moderna, Biontech, Johnson & Johnson, Iraqi Violence, Iran, IAEA, Abraham Accords, United Arab Emirates, Persian Gulf, Family Reunification Commission, Judge Merrick Garland, Ben Sasse, Ted Cruz, Marsha Blackburn, Chuck Grassley, Thom Tillis, Lindsey Graham, John Kennedy, Mike Lee, John Cornyn, and Josh Hawley:
- 2021 Monday O: Energy provider Brazos Electric Cooperative in Texas files for Chapter 11 Bankruptcy, listing last month’s destabilizing storm that hammered the Lone Star State between February 13 and 19’ as its reasons for doing so. People on variable rates plans found themselves facing bills of five figures. We are unclear as to how this was possible in a state sans any power and yet it was. This is akin to the subprime mortgage that propelled Barack Hussein Obama, an unknown senator from a notoriously crooked state, into the White House in 2008. The state is still awaiting help from the Biden administration. Gee, ‘President Biden’ may have forgotten the moment he promised it.
- 2021 Monday P: In the United States, 47 million people- 14-percent of the population- has received at least one injection of the China Virus vaccine, either Moderna or Biontech, and with the Johnson & Johnson vaccine approved for immediate use, we hope millions more will be able to receive this vaccine instead of the Third World.
- 2021 Monday Q: Members of the European Union (or former)- France, Germany, and Great Britain- circulate a resolution to slam Iran for speeding up its nuclear ambitions. The parties are circulating this draft ahead of the upcoming meeting of the IAEA. Of course everyone blames President Trump for withdrawing from the 2015 agreement in 2018. Here’s the thing- Iran has been working on nuclear weapons and delivery systems from the very beginning so no one should be surprised by them NOT following the agreement.
- 2021 Monday R: Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu accuses Iran of attacking an Israeli-owned ship in the Gulf of Oman last week. The vessel suffered a mysterious explosion in the gulf and had to put into a nearby port so that the blast could undergo investigation and the ship repaired. Meanwhile, the United Arab Emirates first ambassador to Israel, Mohamed Al Khaja arrived in Jerusalem ahead of a meeting with President Reuven Rivlin. Both nations are part of the Abraham Accords in which Arab states have made peace with Israel and have opened trade and other economic ties with one another. It also is an alliance against the Iranians.
- 2021 Monday S: ‘President Joe Biden’ held his second virtual meeting with another world leader, this one being Mexican President Manuel Lopez Obrador. Hours earlier Homeland Security Secretary Alejandro Mayorkas announced Michelle Brane of Women’s Refugee Commission will head the new family reunification commission, which has reunited 115 of 611 illegal alien families broken up at the border. The secretary said, “There’s no crisis at the border” even though the Biden administration is scrambling to find holding pens for the tens of thousands of illegal aliens swamping the country.
- 2021 Monday T: Iraqi security forces break up street protests in Baghdad’s Tahrir Square. People are angry over events of last week in the southern city of Nasiriya where Iraqi authorities lit up protesters there. People are unhappy with the government and the nation’s three rival groups- Shiites, Sunnis, and Kurds- are unhappy with one another especially as the Iranians continue penetrating the country so they can drive out Western interests and put theirs into place in Baghdad.
- 2021 Monday U: The Senate Judiciary Committee advances Judge Merrick Garland with a bi-partisan vote of 15-7 to send this wimpy POS to the Senate floor for a full vote to be Joe Biden’s attorney general. Four Republicans joined with the Democrats in voting him through while seven voted NO. Here are the four who voted with the Democrats: Sen. Chuck Grassley, Iowa, Lindsey Graham, South Carolina, Thom Tillis, North Carolina, and John Cornyn, Texas. Here are the seven who voted against Joe Biden’s AG pick: Little Ben Sasse, Nebraska, Mike Lee, Utah, Josh Hawley, Missouri, Tom Cotton, Arkansas, John Kennedy, Louisiana, Marsha Blackburn, Tennessee, and Ted Cruz, Texas. We believe the Republicans who voted FOR Judge Garland have a misguided sense of guilt they didn’t demand his Supreme Court nomination to have a hearing back in 2016 when Associate Supreme Court Justice Antonin Scalia died.
