On the Eastern Front, the struggles of the Italian 8th Army and Alpine Corps survivors continues. The city of Kharkov is full of German, Italian, and other Axis troops lucky enough to break the Red Army encirclement. However, the Red Army would soon turn its sights on the industrial city.

  51. 2010 Wednesday: Somali pirates seize a North Korean-flagged cargo ship south of Yemen.
  52. 2011 Thursday: The U.N. Food and Agriculture Organization reports that world food prices have reached a record high.

  54. 2013 Sunday: The Baltimore Ravens beat the San Francisco 49ers to win their second super bowl title after someone blew the Louisiana Superdome’s power in New Orleans power out for 45 minutes.  Prior to the power outage, the Ravens had the 49ers down 28-6 but once it came back on, the 49ers were reinvigorated and almost beat the Ravens; however, the Ravens managed to come back to life themselves and ended up beating the 49ers by a score of 34-31 to win Super Bowl XLVII.  Baltimore quarterback, Joe Flacco, is the MVP for the game.  This marked the first time the 49ers had ever LOST a super bowl (and thank God, they did!).
  55. 2014 Monday: The Denver Broncos’ quarterback Peyton Manning wins a record fifth Associated Press MVP Award; no one has ever won the award more than three times.  Meanwhile, according to Brainy History, the abortion rate in the United States is reportedly at its lowest in three decades.  The rate for 2011 stands at 16.9 abortions per 1,000 women of childbearing years whereas in 2008, it was 19.4 while back in 1981, it was at an all-time high of 29.3.
  56. 2015 Tuesday:  After a lapse of 55 years, novelist Harper Lee releases “Go Set a Watchman,” the sequel to her famous novel, “To Kill a Mockingbird,” which set the character Scout as an adult rather than the child the character was in the first book, “Mockingbird.”  The publisher convinced the author to go the “Mockingbird” book first.
  57. 2016 Wednesday: Both Japan and South Korea put their militaries on alert and begin making strong statements towards North Korea who is testing and going to continue testing long-range ballistic missiles.  Japan promises to shoot down any such aerial vehicles traversing its airspace.  Meanwhile, Kentucky Senator Rand Paul and former Pennsylvania Senator Rick Santorum, both Republicans, suspend their races for the 2016 GOP presidential nomination.
  58. 2017 Friday: The U.S. Department of the Treasury announces new sanctions on the criminal regime in Iran following a recent ballistic missile test that goes against deals struck by the Obama regime and the ayatollahs.  Thirteen people and 12 entities tied to Tehran are on the list.  Elsewhere, federal Judge James Robart issues a temporary injunction against the Trump travel ban imposed on majority Muslim countries with deep ties to terrorism.
  59. 2018 Saturday: The New York Times reported an accusation from actress Uma Thurman that disgraced movie mogul and BIG Democratic donor Harvey Weinstein had forced himself on her sexually years ago in a London hotel room; Weinstein acknowledged making an “awkward pass” (which means he did his best to RAPE her) but strongly denied any physical assault.
  60. 2019 Sunday: In the lowest scoring super bowl of all time, Super Bowl LIII, the New England Patriots defense stifled the high-scoring Los Angeles Rams by a final score of 13-3.  This was perhaps the most boring super bowl of all time.  Julian Edelman was the game’s MVP as he provided most of the offense that won the game.  Maroon 5, Big Boi and some other schlub were the half-time show.  Elsewhere, Pope Francis becomes the first Roman Catholic pontiff to visit the Arabian Peninsula when he visits Abu Dhabi in the United Arab Emirates.
  61. 2020 Monday: Much to the shock of his radio listeners, Rush Limbaugh announced that his doctors had diagnosed him with advanced lung cancer.  He promises to soldier on and we certainly hope that he can.  We are rooting for you, Big Guy, but please, give up the stogies.   Elsewhere, as cases of COVID-19 continue getting out of hand, the Cruise Lines International Association bans all cruise lines stops in mainland China.  Meanwhile, on the Greek island of Lesbos which is overrun with thousands of Muslim ‘migrants’ from the Middle East, riot police have to break out tear gas and batons to quell migrants rioting and burning their holding camps over poor conditions.  The answer is simple: GO HOME.
  62. 2020 Monday A: As the impeachment trial of President Donald J. Trump nears its conclusion in the U.S. Senate, House managers (prosecutors) and defense attorneys for the 45th president begin making their closing remarks.  West Virginia Senator Joe Manchin urges for censure rather than conviction but of course, his far-left Democratic Party colleagues don’t listen to him.  The trial has been a farce from start to finish, mostly boring but at other times laughable.  The Democrats genuinely believe they are ‘killing it’ when in fact, they are turning off millions of Americans.
  63. 2021 Wednesday: U.S. Treasury Secretary Janet Yellen calls a meeting with the SEC and the Federal Reserve over the GameStop craze.  Apparently, some people can make big money and others cannot; what a shame.  Next, as the GOP implores Joe Biden to agree to a lower COVID-19 Relief/Stimulus bill, he waves them off- no way.   Next, the House GOP are holding a meeting to determine the futures of Georgia Congresswoman Marjorie Taylor Greene and Wyoming Congresswoman Liz Cheney who has become extremely toxic.  We expect Greene will lose all committee assignments and will suffer in-party censure whereas a party will be thrown for Cheney.  IF this occurs, my colleagues in California say the days of voting for Kevin McCarthy are fast approaching an end.   Speaking of California politics, reprobate Democrat Congressman Adam “POS” Schiff is badgering soon-to-be-former Governor Gavin “The Smiler” Newsom to make him the Golden State’s attorney general.
  64. 2021 Wednesday A: The un-American New York Times is facing surprising blowback following their encouragement of Joe Biden to form a “1984-style” Truth Commission with which, liberals and BIG TECH can track, monitor, and disappear Americans’ online words and deeds.  WTF is wrong with these people?  Meanwhile, the U.S. Supreme Court does not accede to the Biden administration’s request to toss hearings on Trump administration immigration policies into the garbage, merely postpones them.  We shall see.  Elsewhere, Sinophile U.S. Secretary of State Anthony Blinken announces the U.S. and Russia have extended the New Start Treaty for another five years.   Finally, Claudia Tenney, congresswoman from New York’s 22nd Congressional District declares victory with a 123-vote lead over sitting congressman Anthony Brindisi.
  65. 2021 Wednesday B: House Speaker Nancy “Mumbles” Pelosi, she with the eyes drooping in two different directions, says ‘a 9/11-style TRUTH COMMISSION       is necessary to figure out how the Capitol Building was stormed by Antifa members posing as Trump supporters on January 6.  We doubt anything more will come from this because as numerous video clips continue surfacing showing Capitol Hill police officers waving the FALSE FLAG operators into the building, there can be but one conclusion: Nancy “Mumbles” Pelosi- as head of the Capitol Police Department- gave the word to allow her Antifa and Black Lives Matter thugs easy entry in the hope they could use it against former President Donald J. Trump.  We look forward to the results of yet another bogus ‘investigation’ led by Democrats.  Elsewhere, in California, former San Diego Mayor Kevin Faulconer has thrown his hat into the ring to replace rapidly disappearing Governor Gavin “The Smiler” Newsom.  The mayor’s first campaign ads are spectacular and we hope he will be able to take the seat and save the state.    Finally, climate fraud John F. Kerry is blasted for flying in his PRIVATE JET to receive a ‘climate award.’  Hypocrite!
  66. 2021 Wednesday C: Rep. Nancy Mace calls out the Baby Evita- Sandy Cortez- aka AOC, aka Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez- the biggest leftwing crybaby in Congress, over her claims that she was cowering in her office closet while the EVIL MAGA supporters were outside in the hallway.  Congresswoman Mace who is two doors down from Sandy Cortez says, “IT NEVER HAPPENED.”  Yet, the mainstream news media remains incurious.  Personally, we know AOC had little to fear because she was briefed like everyone else in the Democratic Party that the Antifa and BLM human garbage were going after Republicans.   Elsewhere, Cancel Culture continues trying to destroy Americans, the latest target being Mike Lindell of My Pillow fame.  All because he believes the plentiful evidence of election fraud in November 2020, everyone is trying to shut him up, even that putz Bob Sellers on Newsmax who would not permit him to speak the day before.  Sorry, Newsmax, you need to boot Sellers back to FNC.
  67. 2021 Wednesday D: Communist China warns U.S. Secretary of State Sinophile Anthony Blinken NOT to interfere when it comes to Hong Kong either.  Blinken and the U.S. have already been warned off about interfering in Taiwan so now the Biden administration has been told to butt out on the issue of Hong Kong, too.  Elections have consequences- hey, Joe: are we going to return to the Trans Pacific Partnership, too?   Speaking of the State Department, its spokesperson says a U.N. ambassador must be confirmed and soon IF the United States is going to hold the Chi-Coms accountable.   Meanwhile, we learn that White House Press Secretary Jen Psaki, stammering, stuttering, and always ‘circling back’ to answer reporters sent a homophobic tweet about Sen. Lindsey Graham, calling him, “Lady G.”  My, don’t you just love the ‘beautiful people’ that aren’t racists, bigots, homophobes, xenophobes, transphobes, haters, white supremacists, and the like?  Good one, Jen, good one.
  68. 2021 Wednesday E: Here are the numbers for the Xi Jinping Bat Flu- Pelosi Pox:  Here are the statistics for the planet as a whole: 104,142,856 confirmed cases, +570,195, 2,260,283, confirmed deaths, +17,045, and 57,839,230 confirmed recoveries, +336,520.  Next, here are the stats for the United States, the intended target of the Chinese-engineered Wuhan Virus pandemic: 26,730,817 confirmed cases, up 206,599 from yesterday’s reporting, 453,059 confirmed deaths, UP 5,312, and 11,166,500 confirmed recoveries, UP- UNKNOWN- same number as last week’s.  NOTE: SINCE JOE BIDEN BECAME PRESIDENT ON JANUARY 20, 2021, THERE HAVE BEEN 48,215 CHI-VI DEATHS.  Joe, you said you had a plan- where the f**k is it?
  69. 2021 Wednesday F: Next, in the three states in which, the world-famous American Institute of Culinary Politics-the Elemental News of the Day employs chef-bloggers- California, Hawaii, and Washington- here are the stats, California first: 3,350,293 confirmed cases, 41,811 confirmed deaths, and NO MENTION of confirmed recoveries.  Next here are the numbers for Hawaii: 26,070 confirmed cases, 410 confirmed deaths, and NO MENTION of confirmed recoveries.  Finally, here are the stats for leftist-Marxist-socialist hellhole of Washington: 318,967 confirmed cases, 4,402 confirmed deaths, and NO MENTION of confirmed recoveries.  Let us look at one other state: Florida: currently, they have 1,744,619 confirmed cases, 27,467 confirmed deaths, and NO MENTION of confirmed recoveries.  Now that Mo has relocated to Israel, let’s look at the statistics there: 667,216 confirmed cases, 4,928 confirmed deaths, and 589,288 confirmed recoveries.  Let’s look at one other country, shall we?  Brazil: 9,296,245 confirmed cases, 226,666 confirmed deaths, and 8,160,929 confirmed recoveries.
  70. 2021 Wednesday G:  Here are today’s Stock Market closes: DOW Jones Industrial Average: 30,723.60, UP 36.12 points (+0.12%).  Next, the NASDAQ: 13,610.54, DOWN 2.23 points (+0.016%).  Finally, here are the stats for the S&P 500: 3,830.17, UP 3.86 points (+0.10%).  The price of GOLD is $1,834.80 per troy oz., -0.30 (-0.02%) while the price of SILVER is $26.95 per troy ounce, +0.061 (+0.23%).  The price of PLATINUM is $1,112.60 per troy oz, -1.90 (-0.17%) while the price of COPPER is $3.56 per pound, -0.0035 (-0.10%).  The price of PALLADIUM is $2,276.60 per troy oz, +48.90 (+2.20%).  The price of Light Sweet Crude Oil is $55.95 per barrel, +0.26 (+0.47%).  Currently, one-dollar U.S. = 6.46 Chi-Com yuan.   Meanwhile, one-dollar U.S. = 0.83 euros and in Mexican pesos equals 20.20.  Next, one American dollar equals 0.000027 Bitcoin.
  71. 2021 Wednesday H: The U.S. Senate via ‘budget reconciliation process’ has passed Joe Biden’s $1.9 trillion COVID-19 relief bill.  With the cash flowing in from communist China, this bill will bankrupt the country for generations to come.   Speaking of BIG BUCKS, here are the numbers for tonight’s Super Lotto Draw #3531 with a $17 million pot up for grabs: 04, 15, 27, 28, 34, and Mega 16.  Out of 98,965 winning tickets, the highest winner was ONE person who had FIVE numbers but NO Mega for a prize of $37,233.  The winning ticket was sold at 7-Eleven at Carnelian Bay, CA 96140.  Next, here are the numbers for the Powerball Draw #817 with $20 million on the line: 05, 37, 40, 64, 66, and Powerball 05.  Out of 50,955 winning tickets, the highest winners in California were TWO people who had FOUR numbers plus the Powerball for a prize of $27,997 apiece.

ALBUM OF THE DAY AT THE AICPENDBLOG.COM:

Waysted returned with its sophomore effort, the self-titled “Waysted,” on September 15, 1984.  The band featured Pete Way (bass), Fin Muir (lead vocals), Paul Chapman (lead guitar/vocals), Neil Shepard (rhythm guitar/keyboards/vocals), and Andy Parker (drums/percussion).  As you can see, we have two-thirds ‘UFO’ here with Way, Chapman, and Parker so it has that feel swirling about it.  The album did fairly well on the charts and you can understand WHY once you hear it, it’s glorious and we do enjoy it so please, why not visit Amazon.com where you can find “Waysted Plus,” which gives you several more tunes at a very reasonable price.  At one time we were paid for our suggestions and promotions whereas now, we just promote what we love.  You will enjoy it.

Something is not right about this and I fear that governors such as David Ige are using the COVID-19 pandemic as a means of ‘social engineering.’ I fear that prisoners and jail/prison staffers will be given dibs on getting vaccinated first while our seniors, disabled, and chronically ill will be held at arm’s length until most of them die. After all, these people ‘cost the state’ far more healthcare dollars to maintain or so they believe.

WINTER SESSION 2021

BLOG POST #3,748 AT THE AICP-END

DAYS UNTIL ELECTION DAY 2022: 643

In Hawaii, family is important, extremely important…

Honolulu, HI 96782, 02-03-2021 Wednesday:  Next week is the week when the second ‘impeachment trial’ begins in the U.S. Senate and it is clear to many that Democrats in leadership were expecting a different sort of response from the public- namely everybody cheering them on.  I think following the outrageous mess we witnessed on January 6, 2021, what with the Trump supporters storming the Capitol Building after Trump told them to go there and do that, they have had no choice other than to keep the National Guard in the nation’s capital and to maintain the fencing and barbed wire encircling Capitol Hill lest we’re forced to witness a much more violent repeat of what we had the misfortune of observing last month.

Don’t get me wrong, we do not see all Trump supporters as evil because millions of normal people support him, too.  As I have said both this week and in past posts, he did many things with which, my family and I agreed such as giving us the best economy anyone has seen since the late 1980s and 1990s.  We were making money hand over fist and we had hopes of continuing to make money until the Wuhan Virus began sweeping the globe.

Whether we believe Trump failed to act in time or he did, we must applaud him pushing rules and regulations aside so we could get a vaccine program on steroids underway.  We are amazed at how quickly American scientists were able to pull this stunning feat off but the problems began when moving the vaccines out to the American people seemed to freeze up to the point where very few have gotten them outside of jail staffers and inmates when seniors and the chronically ill should have been first in line.

Don’t get me wrong, I don’t begrudge inmates and jailers getting the vaccines because of the close proximity in which these people live and work.  We have three correctional facilities on Oahu- Oahu Community Center, Halawa Correctional Facility, and Waiawa Correctional Facility where numerous inmates and prison officials have contracted the virus.

Likewise, inmates and workers at the Women’s Community Correctional Facility in Honolulu County as well as the Kauai Community Correctional Facility have tested positive as they have on the Big Island.  This insidious disease seems to hit certain populations in the islands while leaving others alone.

The problem is there are so many people here in the 50th state who have preexisting conditions such as diabetes, heart disease, high blood pressure, and lung ailments.  Unlike living in the American Southwest, the high humidity here can cause extreme respiratory problems for those at sea level.  People with breathing issues find greater relief living Upcountry on Maui than they do in the congestion of Honolulu and Honolulu County.

If you have never visited us, Honolulu and the surrounding cities and towns are much like visiting the Southland in California where one moves from one city to the next without ever leaving urban areas so cases of COVID-19 are much more prevalent.  However, the sooner we can get everyone vaccinated the sooner we can get back to normal life which for the tightknit community that we are is extremely critical.

The problem is the Department of Health seems to be ignoring the people who need immunizations more so than those doing time in one of our lockups.  Teachers must get inoculated ASAP so they can return to teaching our kids, most of whom are struggling to stay abreast in their studies.  Likewise, senior citizens seem to be at the back of the line when in fact, the hospitalization rate for those 60 and older is said to be 34-percent and higher while they account for 13-percent of all COVID-19 deaths.

In Hawaii, family is important, extremely important.  We hope this is not the case.

See you tomorrow.

Up-and-coming Bakersfield, California, street artist, Simone, created this cartoonish caricature of me so we can keep our identities on the down low due to increasing threats, Web intrusions and threats, and so we do not lose our professional businesses because of our politics here at the AICP-END Blogs.

That said, I began my career in the early 1970’s when I apprenticed to cook under one of the masters on the Big Island where I was born.  I moved to Oahu in the early 1980’s after having worked in both Kona and Hilo, HI, and have been there for most of my professional career.

Moreover, I have also worked on Maui for a few years (1995-1998) and have been on Kauai (2001-2003) before returning to Honolulu.  My goal is to prepare the next generation of chefs for the future and to help the underprivileged in their struggle to attain careers in the foodservice industry.

We continue offering CDs today by the greatest San Francisco band of all time, the Jefferson Airplane.  The band’s eighteenth album, “Live at the Fillmore East,” hit record store shelves on April 29, 2009 and was yet another live recording the curators of the vault released for the fans’ listening enjoyment.  Now, we will admit that we did not put these in the order that we should but tried to keep the JA albums together and then present the Jefferson Starship following the original band.  Here, we have the classic lineup of Grace Slick (vocals), Paul Kantner (rhythm guitar/vocals), Jack Casady (bass), Marty Balin (vocals), Jorma Kaukonen (lead guitar/vocals), and Spencer Dryden (drums).  We urge you to visit the Amazon.com website, so you can pick it up at the price that is perfect for YOU.
