SPRING SESSION 2020
BLOG POST #3,477 AT THE AICP-END

Governor Ige, open Hawaii NOW!
Kula, HI 96790, 05-08-2020 Friday: I must say- it’s good to see President Donald J. Trump out there touring the country again, making stops in places like Arizona, giving speeches, answering lame questions fielded by the Fake News media, and pumping up the American economy. The amazing thing is, ONE political party in the United States (can’t guess- the Democrats!), wants to keep the economy closed because they are worried about you and me, about us, about our families, friends, neighbors, and the like; sure, sure you are.
The Democrats could care less about you and me or about anyone else and here’s why: they thrive on misery, on suffering, on poverty, they never want things to improve even though over the past fifty years or more, they have strived to keep people at the same level of economic servitude. The soaring economy, the one given us by Donald J. Trump, scared the living crap out of them because when the American people are doing well, Democratic Party politics typically aren’t.
The Democrats have loads of problems. I was watching President Trump speaking at an Arizona factory making masks for the American people and some Latinos stepped up to the mic and praised our commander-in-chief. One of them, a woman, said, “Latinos love Trump” and why would they not when everyone is working, making money, and the future is looking good, provided we can get the country up and running.
We wish President Trump would come to Hawaii. We are already in the financial abyss what with a $1.5 billion shortfall, a hole, a place of doom. Governor David Ige is slashing programs just as his continued closure of the economy is putting the people of our great state into deep trouble, trouble that will not immediately disappear when (or if) this disaster of a governor reopens Hawaii for business.
Like New York, our state government (AFTER the successful leadership of Linda Lingle back in 2002-2010) went into the hole under the leadership of Governors Neil Abercrombie and now this lolo of a chief executive, Ige. Both of these spend-spend-spend Democrats never plan for a rainy day and then when a lengthy downpour arrives and won’t stop, they have nothing left with which to fix the messes they created.
Teachers in Hawaii already make low wages because you must remember, our economy is comparable to that of California when it comes to wages, but the cost of living dwarfs anything anywhere else other than perhaps Alaska. Shopping for groceries is costly, putting gasoline in one’s car is even worse, and cost of rent and property taxes are absolutely appalling.
Government is supposed to fix these things and since our coronavirus ‘epidemic’ is way less than the mainland or elsewhere in the world, Governor Ige and his partner in this disaster, Lt. Gov. Josh Green would rather defy President Trump’s plans of reopening the country so they can either force the federal government to bail us out or HOPE that the ignorant among us will believe Trump is responsible for ALL our problems and not their lackluster leadership.
We want to save our state. We want our people working, making money, getting back on their feet, doing the things they love to do, whether it’s hiking from Kahului to Kula, whether taking the trek through the crater of Haleakala out the Kaupo Gap and back to Hana, or spending time in the sun on any of our marvelous beaches. We want to go back to living our lives the “Hawaii Way” and not in this depressing state of dependency on people who hate the president and despise us.
Friends, the time is now for us to begin reopening our state. I think if every business owner says, “ENOUGH!” and we all reopen together, what can government do to us? There is not enough law enforcement to go after everyone and besides, I believe our Local cops would stand with us against the despotism emanating out of Honolulu.
Let me know what YOU think. We will return tomorrow for the beginning of the weekend session. I will see you then. Aloha.
