SPRING SESSION 2020
BLOG POST #3,475 AT THE AICP-END
184 DAYS UNTIL ELECTION DAY 2020
How did we sell our souls to communist China?
Kula, HI 96790, 05-06-2020 Wednesday: I must say that lately, I have been glad to be home because we have our grandchildren with us and you had better believe that my hubby and I are de-programming them to the best of our ability. Although we think it would be amazing if schools would resume full-time teaching, the more we have the kids with us the more we have time to introduce them to Rush Limbaugh (he’s the best!),
Sean Hannity, Glenn Beck, Buck Sexton, Dave Ramsey, Joe Pags, and loads of others. We love tuning in to Talk Radio and if we can’t get a talk show host we like locally or from Honolulu, we can always go online and get him or her there. We love Coast-to-Coast Live, George Noory, he is one of the all-greats just as was Art Bell.
Many people are upset with China right now and who can blame them. The fact that the American people- and others around the world, too- have become aware of just how dependent we are on imports from a communist country for our survival, tells us it’s time we sever the ties that bind us together. Enough is enough. Wuhan Flu, f**k you!
Moreover, we cannot depend upon a country that hates our guts for our medicines, for our electronics, for 5-G, for our computers, our cell phones, or for anything else we deem essential in our lives, not even dog and cat food.
Here on Maui, we have a camera system for both our business and for our home, Hikvision, a superb surveillance system but one manufactured in the People’s Republic of China, the nation that seeks our nation’s downfall. Well, we now know for a fact that our personal images are stored in the Cloud, a place accessible by the Chinese.
Now that we recognize they have the power to monitor everything we may do in our homes or at our business is reason enough for seeking alternatives to their system so we can reclaim our privacy and protect it. Readers: any suggestions?
Furthermore, I agree with my colleagues that a resumption of the Two-China Policy could be the way to go once we untangle the web that connects the United States and China. We first must bring our medicine manufacturing home from their country just as we need to restore the companies that manufacture our PPE our healthcare professionals require in massive quantities in our country and not in theirs.
You see, it makes no sense for the United States to be dependent upon a country that would love to engineer our demise. We must find ways by which, we can make it worthwhile for American corporations to return to the United States. Why can’t we make our own medicines and medical equipment, especially when we know that much of what does come from China is shoddy, toxic merchandise? I think we must begin repatriating American businesses as soon as we get out of this mess.
The other thing we must do is to get Governor David Ige out of office as soon as we possibly can as this loser enjoys being able to be a dictator of sorts. My state has only had 621 cases, 17 deaths, but 548 recoveries yet he keeps his Mandarin-made leather boot atop our throats, telling us we must shelter at home, avoid going out, not to do anything, just as though he were Xi Jinping Jr.
One of the major problems we have is that the rules are all over the place. Tourist places are shutdown and woe to anyone who seeks to visit them while other places, certain beaches, and other locales are able to open- partially. No one knows what the overall rules are other than that if the governor or his second in command, Lt. Governor Josh Green (both Democrats, by the way) don’t like it, they will come after you like a mako shark after fresh, liquified chum. It is what it is and they seem to take great delight in it.
Honolulu Mayor Kirk Caldwell believes each mayor of each town and city be left to decide how best they are going to manage their locale’s affairs during the state of lockdown, something our governor and lt. governor seem NOT to like. They would rather dictate to us from on high as though we are living in the times when Americans and British were telling the natives how to live their lives- or else. Enough with colonialism already.
Well, when we paddle through the surf and back onto dry land, you had better believe changes are coming and coming soon. Neither Mazie nor Brian Schatz are up for re-election in November but when they are, if they don’t get their stuff in gear, I think they are going to be surprised by the growing momentum going against them, not for them.
Likewise, when Governor Ige and Lt. Governor Green come up for reelection, we are going to go all out to get Republican Andria Tupola into the gig. She would make a great governor that I cannot wait for Election Day November 2022. Not that far away.
Aloha. See you tomorrow. We will talk stink about China then.

I began working at the Maui Prince Hotel back in the 1970s. I apprenticed under some of the best European chefs back in the day and met Stinkbug, our mentor, on Maui in 1990. Presently, I am working up in Kula at one of the restaurants high up on Haleakala—it is a glorious life. The facsimiles you see of me here at the blog were created by the famed up-and-coming, Bakersfield, California, street artist, the fabulous Simone. Thank you so much for the uh, beautiful likeness of me, your beloved pau hana host.
