Although many might be ‘shocked’ by what I am going to say, I think Trump is doing an excellent job when it comes to combatting the Coronavirus

I want to thank our state’s leaders, starting with Governor David Ige and Lt. Governor Josh Green. Our senators- Mazie Hirono and Brian Schatz have done right by us as has the rest of our state and local legislators. Thank you, aloha, we love you. We will fight this together.

SPRING SESSION 2020

BLOG POST #3,445 AT THE AICP-END

214 DAYS UNTIL ELECTION DAY 2020

Compared to some states, Hawaii is doing extremely ono…

Kihei, HI 96753, 04-05-2020 Monday:  Aloha, friends, from the beautiful town of Kihei.  Living here is one of the absolute best gifts life could ever offer and when the Novel Coronavirus, aka the COVID-19 pandemic, abates, I hope our guests from around the globe will continue coming to visit us.  We miss them as much as they miss us.

Normally, you all know I love talking stink about President Trump because he presents so many easy targets, it’s difficult to resist hammering him one after another.  I must say, however- and this is going to surprise many of you- I think the man is doing a bang-up job on fighting this virus from Wuhan, China.

If you recall, the last time I was here, well, we were still at Google Blogger until that little pansy, Sundar Pichai, decided to close us down, I wrote some posts very unfriendly to China at the time.

I mean, why would anyone think that China is a fine nation, a good place to visit, that it plays by the rules, cares about international law and the like or that we should emulate them?  No, they are a totalitarian society that seeks to do harsh things to us so I think that in this regard, President Trump is doing one heck of a job.  Gonna irritate readers, I know.

Currently, things are not so bad here although had we not mandated a two-week quarantine for outsiders coming in, it could be worse.  At the time I began keying away at this post, we have only had three unfortunate deaths from 319 cases (as of Friday) spread between the various counties.  Compared to most, that’s pretty doggone good.

One of the things about living in Hawaii is that we are an extremely healthy people, well, not counting many of the Native men who suffer obesity, diabetes, alcoholism, and drug use, but most everyone else is as we pursue wholesome lifestyles.

There is so much to do.  We windsurf, board surf, swim, hike, climb, bike, do many things which is why most of us are extremely vigorous specimens- even into our senior years.  Add to that the fact that the trades tend to blow much of the gunk out to sea and most of the annual influenzas, colds, and other congestive yuck head out to sea before they can infect us.

We are extremely fortunate to have Kaiser Permanente as one of our top medical providers as well as loads of U.S. military doctors and nurses scattered among numerous bases.  We have county health facilities that are phenomenal and our hospitals are glorious.  Hospitals on Maui are excellent, especially the one up in Wailuku and the other high up in Kula.  Oh, can’t forget Lahaina’s either.  All very ono.

Here, too, people tend to look after one another.  We do whatever we must to protect our health so we do not infect others.  Hawaii government at all levels is responsive to its citizens so if anything occurs that concerns our officials, they can move on it as quickly as possible.

We look forward to a time when no one has to walk around in fear.  If everyone does his or her part, we can make our state the travel destination its always been, a place of love, of aloha, of spirituality, and of joy.  I would hope everyone on the mainland would do the same so we can be rid of this challenging time in the history of our state, the country, and the world.

Tomorrow, we can begin talking about China.  China has much to answer for so we will let them have it- with both barrels.

Aloha, my friends.  As the only remaining hardcore Democrat at the NEW AICPENDBLOG.COM, let’s hope I do not begin going through some ‘changes’ which could alienate my fans.  That would not be good- for the few liberals who still read our blog.

I must say I am amazed that the AICP-END Blog would send up-and-coming Bakersfield, California, street artist, the amazing Simone to Maui to do some photographic portraits of me.  We have moved in this direction since politics have turned millions of people against one another and it is important for us as employers and as private people with families to protect, that we begin covering our actual identities from those seeking to cause us problems.  I must say, Simone has done an outstanding job and this is a caricature of me that meets with my approval.  My husband and I live and own a restaurant in Kihei, Hawaii, and have also worked in institutional cooking at Maui’s premier hospital up in Wailuku.
