TODAY IN HISTORY—MARCH 20, 2020

2016: President Barack Hussein Obama and his family arrive in Cuba for a three-day visit. He was the first U.S. president to visit the island nation since 1928. His visit, however, was the first by any American president since the island went communist in the 1950s so thank you, Mr. Obama, for being such a pro-Castro POS.

Los Angeles County could easily lower rents within 30 days if they would work with ICE in rounding up and deporting illegal aliens but property management firms won’t permit it nor will the liberal politicians under their control

Mayor Eric Garcetti of neighboring Los Angeles understands this just as does every other mayor here in Los Angeles County. Aid ICE in rounding up every illegal alien and deporting them would free up so many housing units that after suitable sanitation measures have been employed to rehabilitate them for use by American citizens and rents would plummet dramatically.

SPRING SESSION 2020

BLOG POST #3,428 AT THE AICP-END

231 DAYS UNTIL ELECTION DAY 2020

Last year’s typhoid fever infections should have been a wake-up call…should have been

Pasadena, CA 91101, 03-20-2020 Friday: Welcome to the Brave New World of pandemic viruses. The Wuhan Virus- aka COVID-19- aka coronavirus- continues its inexorable spread and no one seems to know how bad it’s going to get, whom will be infected, and whether we can provide the necessary care to them or we cannot. Only in the last couple of days have I heard anyone begin broaching the highly politicized and extremely unpleasant topic of what to do with the homeless and the southern border. About flipping time.

I believe that most people living on the streets would not be living in cardboard boxes or tents if they had an alternative. I believe they are there because of alcohol and drug-induced problems as well as mental illness and in some places, sky-high rents but there is a reason for this other than lack of availability of low cost housing. The answer is ILLEGAL IMMIGRATION.

I live in Pasadena, California, and like it or not, we have swarms of homeless people. We also have a large illegal alien community. Typically, the illegals have jobs which is AGAINST the law but refusing to hire them in the Golden State due to immigration status is also AGAINST the law. Go figure.

Many food service employers do indeed hire illegal aliens because we can pay them less, not give them benefits, and send them packing if they cause problems on the job because we can get another one. Easily.

With illegal aliens working many low-paying jobs, they can afford cheap rental homes and apartments because unlike most Americans, they could give a hoot if 3-5 families reside under one roof just as they could give a flying f**k about their hygiene conditions. Where they come from, a house with running water and semi-workable toilets is a mansion so it matters not to them.

But with 10-15 people living in a two-room rental, they can afford the rent whereas Joe and Jane American struggle to find suitable housing within 30-45 miles of their workplace. If they should find themselves unemployed, they might have to give up this low-rent home and many times, they can end up on the streets with the numerous urban outdoorsmen-and-women who already inhabit them because of mental illness or drug and/or alcohol dependency and abuse.

Leftists do not want to do this just as many unscrupulous property management firms and rental property owners do not want to happen because they make money off renting to armies of illegal aliens. They can evict them without much trouble whereas if a U.S. citizen resists eviction, they must follow a large volume of rental and property management law that can be frustrating rather than sending an ‘eviction specialist’ to get them out overnight.

Likewise, leftist mayors do not want to round up the mentally ill and institutionalize them, babbling on about their ‘rights’ when in fact it comes down to not wanting to spend the money to provide care and shelter for them. Likewise, they do not want to spend money rehabilitating the alcohol and drug dependent folks. They would rather they remain out of sight and out of mind in the back streets and alleyways except at VOTING TIME.

Last year, a city hall employee in Los Angeles came down with typhoid fever as she had to pass through ‘homeless city’ on the way to work every day. That should have been a wake up call, folks, for every ultra-left, bleeding heart liberal living in the state.

Should have been.

See you tomorrow.
