WINTER SESSION 2020
BLOG POST #3,405 AT THE AICP-END
254 DAYS UNTIL ELECTION DAY 2020
Last night’s Democratic debate was a real barnburner…
Ventura, CA 93001, 02-26-2020 Wednesday: Last night was the BIG NIGHT, yet another Democratic Party 2020 primary election debate, this one featuring all the BIG GUNS: Joe Biden, Tom Steyer, Michael Bloomberg, Elizabeth Warren, Bernie Sanders, Amy Klobuchar, and Pete Buttigieg. Meanwhile, polls in South Carolina appear that “Smokin’ Joe” Biden is leading the pack with “Crazy Bernie” a close second. Following the top two, it appears that Tom Steyer has managed to buy his way into the third slot followed by Lizzie Warren and “Big Nosed” Amy. Wow.
Bernie has been suffering some problems because that crazy old SOB won’t give up on loving him some Cuba. Boy, does that old coot love the communist dictators around the globe. He diminishes the slavery in which, the populations languish while bragging up the education and health care programs. Please, Bernie, please, when dictators in these S-HOLE nations require first class health care, they abandon whatever crap hole it is in which, they reside and go to Europe, the United States, Canada, or some other place where health care actually exists.
Although not a Democrat, I feel bad for Joe Biden. I mean, how can one not? He has been a fixture in American politics for more than four decades. He has a personality that although a cold-hearted liberal POS, he comes off as warm, genuine, even affable when many of the others are cold as ice. To see Joe pummeled by miscue after miscue is rather sad and I do indeed feel sorry for the poor old guy.
Meanwhile, the blizzard of Mike Bloomberg mailings continues unabated as do his omnipresent TV commercials. Tom Steyer has his ads on TV, too, but also has quite a few on the radio. Either way, either candidate, we cannot escape them and so we are pounded and pounded and pounded with propaganda. I guess this is what George Orwell envisioned when he wrote “1984.”
Early on- when Norah O’Donnell and Gayle King were moderating the CBS event- things got heated and they got out of control. It became a feeding frenzy as the liberal members jumped onto Michael Bloomberg and hammered him and then sent some of the fury towards wide-eyed Tom Steyer. I have been waiting for someone to ask that puffed-up little loser about his investments in privatized prisons. Thank you, Joe Biden, for punching that out-of-touch putz in the mouth- figuratively speaking, of course.
It was clear where things were heading almost from the start. Bloomberg was going to ‘get his’ as were Steyer and Bernie. Amy Klobuchar was lucky to get a word in edgewise as was Mayor Pete. I think of all the candidates competing on the stage, Buttigieg appeared the least comfortable whereas Joe and Bernie came to scrap.
I must admit I am unclear as to WHY Amy continues to poll low. Compared to some of the others, she seems relatively sane, moderate, and somewhat pro-American compared to some of the others. Here is what I would do if I were Amy:
Make a deal with Joe. That’s right, that is what I said. Make a deal with Joe. Tell him you will support him- from behind the scenes, of course- and that when he comes out on top, you will be his vice president, his heir apparent.
I will say this- and it pains me to do so- I do not think Joe has long for this world. I am not saying he is going to pass tomorrow; no, I do not believe that. What I do believe is that becoming president would be the capstone of his life. It would fulfill him in so many ways, it would justify his lifetime in politics.
If he makes it through four years, Amy will be the next president. She is not as frightening as some of the others. Bernie- I mean, come on, man, that guy is the type who will put anyone who makes more than $50,000 up against the wall or bus them to reeducation camps. It is what it is. Sure, $50,000 sounds like a paltry amount but consider this: the well-to-do will bolt the country WITH their wealth the day after Election Day.
From there, the tax increases will destroy the next highest level of income and wealth and eventually- as in all socialist societies- the people the dictator swore he was going to help become the last source of cash to steal. For them, there is no getting away from the ‘socialist revolution.’
I am sure we will continue with more of this tomorrow. Join me then and thus it will be. See you then.
