“If the Singapore Summit 2018 between President Trump and North Korea’s Kim Jong Un bears fruit, we stand to snuff out one of two major hot spots around the world leaving only Iran with which to deal” by Chef Murph MacDougal

While the left hopes President Trump fails on virtually everything, I hope he has amazing success in Singapore next week.

SPRING SESSION 2018

BLOGPOST #2,779 AT THE AICP-END

ONE HUNDREDANDFORTYNINE DAYS UNTIL ELECTION DAY 2018

Let us hope the Singapore Summit 2018 has a marvelous outcome

San Luis Obispo, CA, 06-10-2018 Sunday: We could conclude our week by discussing the remainder of the California political races but what the heck- to the global audience as a whole—unless Vladimir Putin and the FSB are working at subverting our Golden State elections—it has to be boring as hell to hear about “Pretty Boy” Gavin Newsom and his crazy ideas and the strong showing by Republican John H. Cox, determined to make our state great again and destroy the Democrats.

Next week, at least at the time I began writing this post, President Donald J. Trump is heading to Singapore to meet with North Korean dictator, Kim Jong Un.  There, we hope, as our allies in the western Pacific do, that Kim truly is willing to surrender his nuclear ambitions in favor of bringing his police state nation into the 21st century and to begin freeing his people.

We can only ponder the thought processes going on in the head of the youthful Kim.  Is he intent on making an enormous change, maybe taking some major chances in the hope that he can make his nation prosperous and free or is he orchestrating some sort of charade?  I mean, I have had thoughts that mayhap he might send a body double to Singapore and then when his doppelganger meets with the leader of the Free World, that he drops a nuke and blows our president off the map along with those closest to him.

I mean, this is the stuff of which, novelists make a living, right?  We all know that taking the Kim Family lightly can have disastrous consequences.  Then again, maybe the young man wants to stand his army down over the next decade or two, surrender his nukes in exchange for a U.S. Senate-ratified treaty guaranteeing him and his country’s sovereignty.

From his side, I can see how he might view us with suspicion as NO one can tell me WHY the Obama administration decided to topple Moammar Ghadaffy after the Libyan strong man gave up his WMDs during the administration of George W. Bush unless that is the reason why- that Ghadaffy gave them up to Bush.

We know that George W. Bush was the fall-guy for every problem real or imagined (or ginned up) that President Obama cited for at least the first seven years of his time in the White House.  I mean, why else would Obama join in a multinational force, bomb the heck out of the man who no longer had weapons of mass destruction because when put up against other dictators around the world, he was no worse than they were.

Yet, we enabled his enemies to drag him out of a culvert alongside a highway, abuse and degrade him, and then murder him all for what?  The phony baloney ‘Arab Spring?’ I mean, why did Obama interfere in every Arab nation leading to instability across their patch of the world while avoiding the one nation truly needing help to get free, Iran?

Kim Jong Un is aware of all of this.  He knows how duplicitous a partner the United States can be, just ask the Native Americans and the long dark history of broken treaties.  However, modern treaties are a tad bit more difficult to overturn, which is why President Trump is able to undo almost all of the so-called ‘Obama legacy.’  None of it was ‘carved in stone,’ it was all executive orders and memos.

If Kim is amenable to giving up his nukes and allowing verification, it will be through a binding treaty acceptable to both governments.  As long as people I respect but lament the words coming out of their mouths such as Rudy Giuliani and others who have said stupid things causing Kim to get cold feet keep their mouths zipped, who knows what might come out of the Singapore Summit 2018?

Everyone I know certainly hopes the President achieves success.  I suspect the sanctions on North Korea have been unlike any sanctions imposed by any other administration on them before.

You know, if the military lacks food, Kim will not be their leader for very long.  Hunger is a strong motivator, we know it can drive people to do desperate things.  Let us hope this is the case and that Kim has an open mind to doing what is right.

He will need to answer for his crimes such as what happened to poor Otto Warmbier, he will need to reach out to his family in a personal way and do his best to make things right.  He will have to allow the free flow of the Korean people back and forth, the reunification of long-separated families, as well as the return of the hundreds or even thousands of the kidnapped as well as the remains of those lost in the Korean War.

I think we might discover that President Trump can swing deals with people heretofore unthought to be capable of making legitimate deals.  I think if we can bring North Korea into the present era while reassuring Kim that we will never topple him, we might be able to turn off one major hotspot leaving just Iran.

I believe Iran will implode on its own because their people are not stupid, they have better knowledge of what is taking place in the world around them.  The mullahs are living on borrowed time, I suspect they will collapse before the end of President Trump’s second term in office.

Friends, until next time, please note that I have had a lovely week and that I hope Google Blogger and the little sniveling pinheads jacking things up for common folks such as you and I get the heck out of the way and allow free flowing thoughts.

Until next time.  Ta-ta!

The Grateful Dead put out their next ‘best of’ compilation in 1977, “What a Long Strange Trip It’s Been.”  This is a two-LP collection of tunes from the earlier part of their career that commence with the first album and end with “Bear’s Choice.”  For a first-time listener, this is a clever way for one to open one’s ears and then his or her mind to the music of one of the longest-lasting groups from the Age of Acid and Free Love and all that other great stuff.  Please, use our link to pick it up at Amazon.com where you can get it in the format, the condition, and the price that is right for you—you will be so glad you did.  It is great stuff.

In 2002, Vanilla Fudge released a great album, “Then and Now,” in which, they redid all their greatest material for a new time, for a new generation, and because the group had fire in their bellies.   The lineup was the same, Mark Stein (keyboards/vocalist), Carmine Appice (drums/vocals), Tim Bogert (bass/vocals), and Vince Martell (guitars/vocals), but the energy level was 100 times higher than the old days when they were youngsters.   Please, use the link we provide you here, so you can go to Amazon.com.  Once there, you can pick it up in the format, the condition, and at the price that works best for you.  Please, check it out- this band is phenomenal.
